When Taeyeon and Tiffany finally left the cabin, they were met halfway by a search party led by Yoona and Yuri. Seohyun got worried when the storm came and she couldn't reach Taeyeon or Tiffany so she sent Yoona out to look for them as soon as the rain stopped.
Despite what happened at the cabin, the interactions between Taeyeon and Tiffany don't change when others are around. There is no skinship or extra attention-they act like they have always acted towards one another. The only difference is that when there's just the two of them-like that night on that back porch swing-they will stealthily hold hands or joke around more intimately.
Since Taeyeon has to return to the city the next day, they have no choice but to communicate through phone calls and the messaging app but neither of them mentions anything about status or how they should go about things now that they've pretty much told each other how they feel.
The first thing Taeyeon does when she arrives at the city is to go see Sooyoung. When the therapist told her that she's fully booked until next week, Taeyeon insists on taking her out to dinner instead-as old friends, she says.
"Well then, old friend. We've reached main course so small talk is done," Sooyoung says blatantly. "You have something to tell me about Tiffany? Maybe about how you two finally came clean about your feelings towards one another?"
"Evil fairy power," mumbles Taeyeon, not expecting her friend to be able to guess that much.
"What?"
"Nothing." The blonde puts her fork down and takes a sip of water.
"Am I right then?"
"Yes."
"That's great. Who said it first?"
"No one said anything but she kissed me," says Taeyeon as coolly as she possibly can.
"Ah that's even better!" exclaims Sooyoung with a big smile on her face. "I'm happy for you, my friend."
"But what now?"
"What do you mean? Aren't you together? Dating? A couple?"
"I'm not sure, actually," says Taeyeon in all honesty. "We didn't talk about status and I feel like we don't have to."
"Okay. So what is she to you and vice versa?"
"She's a special person to me, someone I care about. I'd like to think that she sees me that way too. But we're both still dealing with a lot right now so maybe that's why we prefer not having that status binding us," says Taeyeon contemplatively. "Is that a satisfactory diagnosis, Doctor?"
"I don't know. I wasn't diagnosing you and didn't ask you to do that either. I just want to know how you honestly feel about her, what she means to you," replies Sooyoung.
"Like I said, she's special. One of a kind. She doesn't give a damn about my money and that is new," explains the blonde, trying hard to suppress a smile at the thought of Tiffany. "I feel that we have a connection, I feel like she understands me."
"Have you told her about why you bought that ranch?"
Taeyeon exhales and shakes her head, her smile fading. "I just found her. I don't want to lose her just yet," she says in a low voice, absentmindedly poking her food with her fork. The idea of losing Tiffany scares her and she refuses to think about it. Not yet, at least.
