Tiffany places the half-empty glass of beer on the table and sighs. She bookmarks the page she's reading, closes her book, takes out a pen and rips a page out of her journal to write a short message. Then she calls a waiter over, asking him to deliver the note to the woman wearing a wide-brimmed sun hat and sunglasses who's sitting at the far end of the beach-side café, seemingly absorbed in her magazine.
She watches and waits until the woman reads the message, puts her magazine down and gets up from her seat.
The woman approaches her table-wearing a smirk on her face-and sits down across from her. "Your note hurts my pride," she says as she takes off her sunglasses, revealing a pair of bright playful eyes. On the small piece of paper, Tiffany has mentioned her name and told her to stop the detective game and just come over and talk.
"How long do you plan on keeping this up?" asks Tiffany.
"Until she tells me to stop and come home," answers the tall brunette.
"What if I tell you to stop and go home?"
"Sorry. I only take orders from her."
"Yoona..."
"Sorry, Unnie. It's part of my job."
"I assume that you've been telling her about what I've been doing?"
"No. She didn't want to stalk you. She just wanted to make sure that you're well and safe."
"What about those bills you paid for me? The hotel rooms, meals, rental cars... there were even plane ticket upgrades."
"Like I said, she just wants to make sure that you're well and safe."
Tiffany sighs again, shaking her head as she looks out at the blue ocean. "I can't get away from her, can I?"
"Why would you want to?" asks Yoona. "Anyway, I didn't lie when I said that I never told her what you're doing or where you are."
"She would've found out from those bills she paid."
"Not really. She gave me a certain amount of money to spend on you but never asked for receipts."
Tiffany raises her eyebrows and looks at Yoona. "She trusts you that much?"
"Yes. Besides, she knows that you're not the crazy spender type. She will undoubtedly question me should the amount become unusually large."
They grow quiet for a moment as Yoona gestures at a waiter, asking for a bill for her table while ordering another drink, adding it to Tiffany's tab.
"So where to after this, Unnie?" she asks, sipping her cocktail.
"Honestly? I don't know."
"Getting bored with traveling?"
Tiffany doesn't answer. "You seriously spent over a year following me around?"
"I didn't follow you around all the time. Sometimes I took leaves too," says Yoona.
"Did someone else take over for you when that happened?"
