Wok Star
Next Thursday, as I walked to my locker with Tori, Andre, and Cat, we somehow got on the topic of a Chinese food place in town.
"No, no. You're not getting it," Tori explained, "This is like the best Chinese food ever. They have these egg rolls and they're so good." She invited us to go with her after school for dinner. She said it's the best. I want to try to see if it's actually the best or if Tori has never had the Chinese food down the road from my house. We'll see.
"One time," Cat started, "when I was little, I had an egg roll with the most amazing sauce."
"I remember that!" I exclaimed, "It was sweet—"
Cat finished, "But also sour."
"Exactly!"
"What was it called?" She asked, snapping her fingers.
"I don't remember," I tried to think.
Andre asked, "Sweet and sour sauce?"
"Shh," I shushed him. I was trying to think. He interrupted my train of thought. Chugga chugga choo choo!
"Not that," Cat said, answering Andre's idea.
"No?"
"It might've been," I shrugged, "But it might not have. Who knows?"
"Hey Beck," Tori waved at him.
"Yeah," he looked over, "What's up?"
"After school we're," Tori dropped her bag, "OH MY GOD! After school we're going to this insane Chinese restaurant I found up the street. Wanna come?"
"Uhh," he started walking away, "Maybe. If I can find Jade."
"Where's is she?" Andre asked.
"I don't know," Beck shrugged, "She blew off her last two classes."
Tori asked, "She still mad?"
"Oh yeah."
"Why is Jade mad?" Cat and I asked at the same time. We both started giggling. But then stopped. Jade was mad. This could be serious.
"Cause, you know that play she wrote?" Beck asked, "'Well Wishes.'"
I nodded.
"Uh huh," Cat answered, nodding.
"Well she wanted to put it on here at the school and they won't let her."
"Why not?" Andre asked.
Tori stated, "The teachers think its weird and disturbing."
Sin-Jin stopped walking right next to Tori's ear. I felt sorry for her, "What's wrong with weird and disturbing?"
Slowly, she turned around, "Your pants are unzipped."
"I know," he said, laughing, then walked away.
"That was weird and disturbing," I muttered.
Robbie ran up with Rex. Both were out of breath, "We found Jade."
"Where?" Beck asked.
Rex stuttered, "Janitor's c-closet."
For some reason, all of us joined Beck in talking Jade out of the closet. Beck opened the door and we slowly all walked in. She was cutting up something while sitting cross-legged on the floor.
"Hey," he said in a calming voice, "Whatcha doin?"
Sadly, she continued attacking the object, "Cutting up a big trash can."
