Tori Goes Platinum

Beck and I had been together for just over four months and were still really happy. Cat had been on and off with this one guy for a few weeks that I didn't mind. At least she's happy with him. Some guy from Sherwood asked Jade out about a week ago and they've been doing good. Andre had another girl who was just as annoying as Hope but he actually liked her this time. Robbie is...Robbie. Rex has been 'partying' with a few Northridge girls. And Tori is still trying to find 'the one' or whatever she's on about.

About a week after our three month anniversary, I was sitting in front of Beck in class. His legs were on my lap. Sikowitz was trying to teach us about backstory and how it affects a character, "Backs-Tori. Backstory."

"Why do you keep saying backstory?" Tori asked.

I narrowed my eyes, "It sounds like you're trying to talk about Tori's back."

Sikowitz sighed, "That's a great question, Tori. When it comes to television shows and Hollywood movies, most of the writing is terrible."

The whole class agreed.

He began to explain what backstory was and how it can make the movie or tv show better, when he noticed a stain on his shirt. Weird.

"Oo!" Cat raised her hand happily, "The police found a weird stain on the seat of my brother's car."

"What kind of stain?" Andre asked.

"They don't know what is is yet," I looked at the ground nervously, noticing the weird glares Cat and I were getting.

"They're taking the car seat down to 'the lab,'" Cat explained.

"Maybe we should just talk about backstory," Tori suggested.

Sikowitz decided that was a good idea. Our brother's mystery stain was a much more interesting topic.

"Lets take a look at this performance by me from an old tv show called, 'City Bus Nights,'" Sikowitz sat down and turned on the computer. There was Sikowitz with hair and some other guy, "There I am, guest starring as the character, Loogie."

"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, "You have hair!"

He ignored me, "So for my backstory, I—"

Sin-Jin burst through the door holding his PearPad, "Hi! Sorry to interrupt!"

"What is it, boy?" Sikowitz yelled.

"Mason Thornesmith is having a major press conference right now about the Platinum Music Awards!" Sin-Jin giggled and then ran off.

"I got it!" Robbie said, "They're streaming it on The Slap."

We all begged him and Sikowitz to put it on the tv. Eventually, Sikowitz gave in. He was taking so long that Cat shoved him aside so she could do it instead, "MOVE!"

Mason Thornesmith appeared on the tv and began talking, "Last year, the Platinum Music Awards were watched by over two hundred million people worldwide. And this year, I'm very excited to announce that we will begin the Platinum Music Awards with a performance by a complete unknown. Beginning now, we are conducting a worldwide search for a fresh new talent who will begin the award show with an original song and become an overnight music sensation." People at the conference began talking. "Now please, just hold your questions. Thank you. So, for the next forty-eight hours, we'll be accepting online video auditions at . All you young performers out there who feel like you have superstar potential, show us what you've got!"

The whole class was buzzing with excitement. Within seconds, I jumped up and ran over to Cat, shoving Beck's legs off of me. Her and I agreed to help each other with our auditions after school today.
