Chapter 22

I awake the next morning before you. It's a first. I just lay there in bed, watching you. I'm consumed by you. By your hair, eyes, lips, everything about you. And you love me.

I place my hand on your cheek and lean in to kiss your forehead before moving out of bed. I make my way in the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror and notice something different. My eyes are brighter. It's subtle but noticeable.

After finishing my business in the bathroom, I check on you too see that your still sleeping. I contemplate waking you but for this I'd rather you be asleep then me having to lie to you. I get changed quietly and grab the money I have saved in my draw.

I walk over to you one more and kiss your temple again. You move slightly at that and I pray to the gods you stay asleep. After a few seconds of moving, your back to sleep. I already know your going to be mad.

I grab your keys and go downstairs. I go to the front door and see a note on it. Went to breakfast with Grey. Told you he loved you. Be back later. Love you. -Miss. I rip the note off and the guilt hits me.

I go into your car and start it up. Before I go anywhere, I look up to my window and all I want to do is run up there and be with you. But I can't. I won't allow myself too. I have to do this. I put the car in drive and I'm off.

I know your going to be mad. Furious even. Probably hate me. Regret loving me. But I'm not doing this for myself. I'm doing it for YOU. I'm doing it so then you'll be safe. I'm doing this because I love you.

I know it's not going to work. I'm not stupid. I'm just in love. And when your in love well you do stupid shit. I already regret driving here but I have to try something. It could kill me but I don't care.

Landing's Street Bar. The place that turned my life around. The place that I tried my first drug. The place that I got drunk first. The place I had sex in for the first time. And now the place where I fix this.

He's here. He's always here. It's his spot. It's where he does everything. I get out of the car and walk to the doors. I'm sorry Jon.

I go inside and walk straight back into the offices. Nobody stops me. Everybody knows why I'm here. Or they think they do. I'm at his door. It takes every bone in my body to not turn around and go back to you.

I knock and there he is. The devil himself. The man behind my drug addiction. The man who will ruin us. The man who isn't even a man.

"Ramsay"

"My sweet babygirl" he says with his twisted smirk. He gets up from his seat and walks over to me. I step back.

"Here. It's three thousand dollars." I hand him the wad of cash.

"Oh babygirl no no. That's not why your here. Tell me did that pretty little boyfriend of yours come running to you?" He says stepping closer to me.

"Leave him alone Ramsay. This is between me and you. Leave him and the car shop alone" I say raising my voice a little.

He grabs my face roughly and hisses at me "watch your fucking tone babygirl. I will play with whoever I want to play with. You don't tell me what to do". His other hand going down my body. I try to move out of his grip but he only moves his hand to my neck.

"Fuck you!" I don't even have time to process what happened before Ramsay backhands me in the face. He has his rings on. I instantly feel the blood coming down from my eyebrow. He grabs my neck and pushes me up the wall. Squeezing hard. He then proceeds to punch me in the stomach. His grip on my neck loosens just a bit and he kisses me. The tears in my eyes threaten to fall but I don't let them. It would only make him happy.

I bring my knee up and hit him as hard as I can in his little Ramsay and run out the door. I can feel the blood coming down from my eyebrow more and the cut on my lip. I run out of the bar and into the car. I start it up and drive away fast.

I make it back to my house and run up the stairs and into my house. I pray to the gods that your still asleep. I just need time to clean myself up. I just need a little time to figure out what to say. I just-

"Where the fuck did you go?"
