Vivian would've ran after her, but she was as afraid as she was naked. She dipped her feet into the semi warm water, her body slumping in after. Her whole body ached. "Ow," Vivian winced, her head moving to her head. There was still a pounding sensation that wouldn't go away. The past two days had made Vivian a clutz. Faint bruises on her body served as a reminder for the horrible fall that'd caused her to end up in such a place.
Vivian shrugged off the thought and slipped back into her father's suit after she bathed and dried herself. She took the belt, tightening it all the way to the first hole because her waist was too tiny for her father's customized pant suit. It didn't help that her father prided himself on his stomach. Vivian frowned in the mirror when even the belt couldn't hold her that well. What did she expect? she wasn't actually a man.
The door creaked open as Vivian cautiously stepped down on the stair again, carefully using her father's big ol' shoes to get around. It hadn't bothered her before as much as it did now. With her heels bopping up and down, many were bound to notice. "You're out!" Agatha said, giving her a wide hug. While she squeezed tight Agatha leaned over to whisper something in her ear.
"I know what I just might found out is hard for you to bare; and I always know it may be hard to believe, but I feel your pain. Please, just stay for today and I'll visit you tonight to see what we can do about this"
In the kitchen Jasper looked up from his newspaper, his brows raised in surprised at the girlish voice that came out of his sister. Who the hell could she possibly be talking too? He stood up and walked into the hall. He froze up when he saw Agatha hugging Vivian with wide, opened arms. Which was unusual, given that they'd only just met and Vivian was a man. "Well well well," he taunted, leaning against the door frame with his shoulder and shaking out the dents out of his newspaper. "What do we have here?"
Both girls told around wide eyes at Jasper, his eyes flickering from his sister and Vivian in amusement. "No continue," he mused. "I'll just be here, you know, watching my sister throw herself over some dead beat, no offense."
Vivian held her tongue. No offense? how does on make it okay by saying 'no offense'?
Jasper's sister was fuming. "I am not throwing my life away brother! after the things you said, show a little respect to her!" she said with a slight gasp towards the end. Vivian's heart pounded against her chest.
Jasper pursed his lips, slowly lowering down his newspaper. "Her?" he sneered. "Don't you mean him?"
Vivian let out a sigh of relief, but Agatha wasn't done yet.
"Well that's what you want to hear," she retorted. "Obviously I said him."
"Apologies," Jasper mused to Vivian. "My sister is a whack job."
She gasped. "I am not!"
"Am too."
"Am not!"
"Whatever the lady says," he said sarcastically. "But may I remind you, whatever the man says, goes. Am I right? man whose name Agatha fancies I do not know!"
Vivian stared at the too siblings awkwardly as they quarreled. Once Agatha was fed up with her brother's antics she took Vivian by the arm, breezing past him and into the kitchen. "Sorry about that," Agatha gestured to a spot at the table and when to gather some pink plates. "My brother is always being a zounderkite(idiot)"
Vivian chuckled. "No, it's quite alright. I find it funny, actually."
"So," Agatha placed a plate in front of her. "Have you thought about my offer? are you going to stay?"
Vivian sighed, being with Agatha meant being near Jasper. As much as she wanted to do nothing with that arrogant man, she couldn't go back to her parents. Her father Mr. Martin was well known back home for being a strict and traditional man. Vivian's stomach churned thinking about the reject she'd face at home. If she ever were to go home again.
"Well?" Agatha pestered, interrupting her thoughts.
"I-I guess I rather stay here," she said softly. "If you don't mind."
"No!" she squealed, hugging Vivian tightly in excitement. "Oh! you don't know how it feels to have a girl around house to-to."
Luckily Jasper wasn't there when Agatha said that, as he walked in blindly with a newspaper under his arm, chewing an apple. He saw the too of them hugging and rolled his eyes, grabbing a chair across the table and sitting down.
"You know, normally I wouldn't care...but the touching is getting out of hand here. So if you don't mind, I'm going to keep tabs my baby sister till this man leaves."
