"MR.SMITH!"

Not again, Vivian thought to herself. She turned away with her back against the door and faced the mirror. Her hair was getting longer; almost on the verge of needing a bun. With Vivian's nightgown it was clear she'd be more feminine looking by the time he busted down the door. Her skin got goosebumps thinking what he'd do to her. Maybe, he'll made her a disgrace to the public! or her family, or better yet: spouse-less for life! She was almost certain of it. Jasper only saw her as a business pawn and not a partner to confide in. The only thing close to bonding they got was when he screamed to the rooftops about work, or her work ethic for that matter. It didn't really mean much more now.

Vivian was petrified.

"That's it, since you're not answering me. I'm barging in my own bathroom!"

"Wait!" she cried, all so high pitched. "You can't come in here."

"Nothing I haven't seen on myself before."

Before Vivian could speak Jasper turned the knob and threw his own body weight against the door.  Vivian flew back in horror and jumped around to look at him. There, Jasper stood with an oil lamp, practically shoving the bright light into her face. Vivian flinched away from the flame and tried to duck away, but Jasper's broad shoulders blocked the exit. He towered over her now with a scowl.

"I'm sorry," Vivian said. "Please, don't do anything rash. I'll explain everything I promise."

Vivian was almost relieved at the sight. For a moment there, Jasper actually seemed confused.

"Now just what were you..," his voice trailed off as his eyes ran down the dim light. Something didn't feel right. He lowered the oil lamp. Vivian tried to cover herself, but it was no use. She'd revealed everything he denied himself to see before.  Jasper took one step back. It all made sense. The oddly high voice, the shortness, the uncontrollable crying, and Agatha's efforts to push her on him. The whole secret, exposed, all in one nightgown. Jasper couldn't almost believe his eyes. Within a second, Mr. Smith seemed to have faded out.

"Who the are you? where's Mr. Smith"

Vivian refused to meet his eye.

"You lied to me," Jasper's voice shook with anger. "In my own home, under my roof! to the high estate of mine. I put my cousin below you; below a damned liar."

"This can all be explained," Vivian said.

"Who are you lady? I demand it!"

Jasper's striking tone made her jolt. "My name is Vivian.."

His fists clenched at the first mention of her name. She could only imagine what would come of her if she said her last.

"Vivian...what?" he sneered.

Vivian sucked in breath and prepared for hell.

"Vivian Martin."

"Damn you!"

That last name, was all it took for Jasper to grab her by the arm and pushed her back into the mirror behind them. His oil lamp hung daringly by her cheek. His eyes blackened and his brows scrunched together furiously, as if they were ready to jump off of his face and attack her. If brows could do such a thing. Jasper's crooked nose flared, jutting angrily toward her. The mere sight of him had all the hair on Vivian's body up and alert. She was fully aware of the power and authority Jasper had over her at this very moment. Vivian winced, the grip on her arm was deathly.

"How dare one of your kind shows your face around here. Do you know what I can do to you? to your family because of what you did. It's your father trying to get to me, isn't he?"

Vivian shook her head.

"Another lie from the Martin family, as usual. Your pesky little father is just trying to get his job back by being irrational. The poor man couldn't even manage one of my corporate offices properly, he deserved it. Shame. It's a good thing he's on his death bed anyway, because if he wasn't- I would make you pay me so much not even your soul would be enough to compensate to the wasted time you've interjected into my own life! Just as you are. A waste of space!" Jasper spat.

Vivian clenched her teeth together so hard it hurt. She'd just about had it with the rich, privileged white man. "How dare you say that about my father! I haven't done anything wrong."

"Yes, you have."

"Like what!"

Vivian was on the verge of tears as Jasper cursed to himself once more and marched out of the room like a little boy having a tantrum.

"I want you out of my house, by tonight," he called from a distance. "And if you refuse to leave I'll call the police!"
