"There's talk around the company that you cheated me out of a job!" Reuben bellowed. "How dare you, you have no right!"

"Actually I do," he said, circling around his nephew like a hawk. "I am the eldest son after all, and I can do whatever I want to whoever I want. It is my birth right."

"Not all of us were born with a silver spoon in their mouth," Reuben shot back.

"Well, perhaps there's a reason for that," Jasper said with a sly smile on her face. Vivian frowned, getting the urge to slap it off his handsome face. She hated it, hated him. Hated everything he was doing.

Just then in the amidst of her glare, Reuben eyed Vivian- his grey eyes filled with bitterness and instant jealously. He looked back at Damion with a sneer. "You chose that, boy, over me. Why!"

"Because he was the better option," Jasper put it simply. "And you obviously weren't cut out to take half of the work my father let on."

"Oh you're just jealous because he liked me more than he ever liked you!"

In an instant Jasper grabbed him by the legs and hurdled him to the ground. His muscular body throwing him against the office wall. Vivian screamed, gasping in horror as Reuben's body slid down. Bloody and bruised. Jasper stood over him with clenched fists, his veins pulsing around his neck.

"Not another word, you hear?" Jasper said. "My father was only nice to you because he knew you couldn't handle being tough for once. You were the innocent, the naive. It was a pity offer you got, and to tell you the truth, you don't deserve any of it!"

"Oh but I do," Reuben said. "You see when you weren't around, too busy drugging yourself up to even come to work like your father asked you too, he was teaching me. Teaching me everything I know. By the time you sobered up and came to your senses, I knew more than you did. Your father gave me half of this very company just because he knows you. He knows you well enough to not trust you, because you'll just screw things up again, like you screw over people. And I made him a promise that I'd keep him in check, just like he kept me."

Jasper frowned. "My father and I are very much the same, he may have given you part of the company- but he also gave me permission to take it away from you. A loophole in the contract he forgot to mention when I became the smart one and you weren't to be needed anymore!"

Reuben shook his head. "You can't fire me, your father will be furious"

"Too bad, he's too ill to be furious at anyone at the moment," Jasper said, a vacant look in his eye.

"Why?" Reuben stumbled back up to his feet. "What did you do to him?"

Jasper frowned. "You think I'd hurt my own father?"

"At this point, you're capable of anything."

"Well I didn't," he said.

"I don't believe you," Reuben insisted. "You hurt people for your own gain, pleasure."

"Hurting my beloved father gives me no pleasure," Jasper muttered. "He's sick and overseas, and he doesn't care about you, Reuben. You're just the little nephew down the street that tries to be the other brother that he is not. It is my duty as his son to keep his company safe from money grabber and thieves from the family, that includes you Reuben." He turned to a trembling Vivian sitting on the desk. "Get the paper and let's go, we have important people you need to meet."

And with that Jasper angrily brushed past him, purposely knocking him back into the wall. Vivian got up nervously and tried to pass Reuben, alarmed when he gripped her back harshly by the arm. His fingernails dug into her skin.

"What's your name young man?" he asked curiously.

"Er, Mr. Smith," she replied, holding in her breath.

Reuben cocked his head to one side. "I've meet you before, somewhere. Where have we met?"

Vivian gulped. "I don't know what you're talking about. Please, sir, let me go."

Reuben's grip on her loosened, enough for her to push him off.

Once she managed to get out of his grasp Vivian rushed after Jasper in a heartbeat, unaware of Reuben glaring daggers at her from behind.

"Hurry up," Jasper snapped, pushing her into a room filled with angry looking men.
