Running.

That's the only thing I remember from that day. I ran away, far away from everything I knew. I was lost, and afraid, but I knew I would never go back. Then I ran right into him.

I was in an alleyway, looking for shelter. I wasn't sure where I was, but it didn't matter. I was wandering through the streets when I heard something, a cry. I followed the voice, when I spotted it—a cat. It was limping, and I could tell that it hurt its leg. I slowly inched my way closer to it, then gently started petting it.
"Don't worry I won't hurt you," I softly said, trying to calm it. Then, I did what I had done many times before. I raised my hands above the cat's leg, taking a deep breath and concentrated. A warm, golden light shone from my hands as I healed the cat. I let it go, and it walked about, without the limp. It softly nudged me, as a thank you. I chuckled, only to be startled by a voice.

"Who are you?"

I quickly turned only to see the one and only Tony Stark.

What I didn't know at the time, was that my life was about to change.

—————

I stood there, shocked. I had no clue what to do. The very man who I was told was my enemy my whole life stood in front of me, and he is asking who I am.

"So...are you going to tell me your name? Or am I supposed to figure that out myself?" He said in a sarcastic tone. I stood there, not sure what to do.

"Y/n," I softly said.

He stared at me, puzzled. "And what was that?"
I inhaled sharply, I hadn't realized he saw me using my powers.

"I-oh that?" I stuttered, trying to come up with a lie. "It was nothing." I began, but he cut me off.

"Nothing? Oh that's what we're calling special abilities now." He chuckled, "That wasn't nothing. So what's up with you? You look lost, you're not from around here, are you?"

"Um," I began, I didn't know what to say.

"And where are your parents?" Tony questioned.

"Why do you care?" I replied quickly. I needed to get out of there.

He only chuckled again and then, adjusting his glasses said, "Friday, identify this girl." When Friday couldn't seem to find an answer, Tony quickly stated, "Okay, you're coming with me, clearly something isn't right about you." But I was already running away. I pushed past Ironman himself, only to run into who I assumed to be his bodyguard. "Oh perfect! Happy get her in the car, we'll be having a chat about who she is at the tower."

—————

So there I was. Sitting in the back of Tony Stark's limousine, pressing into the leather seats, ignoring all of his questions. Why should I trust him? I hardly know him, only that I should despise him-or at least that is what I had been told. Soon, we arrive at the Avengers Tower, and I couldn't help but stare in awe.

—————

After going up the many floor levels, we step out of the elevator into what looked like their living room. "Okay," Tony began, "Tell me, who are you? What's your story?"

"My story?" I said softly, could I really tell him? Could I trust him? I wasn't sure. But a voice deep down inside me was telling me to. "Where  should I begin?" I asked.

Tony shrugged, "Anywhere you want."

I looked down. Afraid to say what I was about say next. Mustering all the courage I had I looked down and said, "I was born, in a place I never want to go back to...I was born as a member of Hydra."
