It had been a couple months after the night Tony Stark had found me. He reunited Wanda and I, and we had grown close over the time we had reconnected. As time had gone by, I felt more and more safe and happy, it had felt as though I was finally home. I spent my time training and getting accustomed to the world. I felt as though I missed out on so much living at the Hydra base.

—————

It was just like any other morning, I got up and went down to the kitchen, greeting the Stark who seemed to be stressed. I made myself toast  and asked, "What's wrong Tony? You look dead."

He chuckled and sat next to me taking my other piece of toast and took a bite, then replied "Its this kid. I can't help but feel worried about him, I don't know, I trust him but he's giving Happy a hard time."

I laughed, "Please, Happy thinks everyone is annoying! He constantly reminds me that he liked me better when I didn't talk much. So, who's this 'kid' you're worried about?"

Tony sat there, eating my toast, lost in thought. Then he got an idea. "You know what..." he looked over at me, "I know just what to do. Weren't you complaining about wanting to do more things around here? You know, having a purpose or what not?" He asked waving the stolen piece of toast in one hand and grabbing his coffee with the other.

"Um...I guess?" I said, not sure where he was going.

He chuckled, then said, "Get ready, we're going to invite a little spider over."

I had been sitting there with Tony, waiting for whoever to come over. "What does you worrying about someone have to do with me again?" I sighed. But before Tony could answer, the bell chimed and the elevators opened, revealing a boy who looked to be my age. He had chocolate brown eyes and hair, and a nervous but genuine smile.

"Mr. Stark! I came as quickly as I could, Happy told me you had important news for me," he said quickly walking over to Tony.

"Yes, I do," Tony started, "but first I need to introduce you to someone...Peter this is Y/n, and she'll be helping you with being Spider-Man!"

"I'm sorry, what?" Peter and I said at the same time.

"Yes, Y/n you'll be going to Midtown High with Peter, and get a sense of the 'real world' and Peter, Y/n will be there to help you do what ever you do around the neighborhood." When Peter and I said nothing, confused, Tony continued, "Think of her as your protector of sorts, she can keep you safe, and you can show her what it's like to be a teenager or whatever."

"Um, Mr. Stark, I don't know what to say..." Peter trailed off clearly as perplexed as I was. Tony only nodded, clearly thinking how he was a genius for coming up with an idea such as this.

I sighed, knowing this was going to happen whether we liked it or not, so I simply asked, "When do I start?"

"Next Monday!" Tony stated; he looked like a weight had been lifted of his chest. Then, he got up, "I'll let you to get to know each other, you know, since you'll be spending plenty of time together."

"M-mr. Stark?" Peter started, but Tony had already started walking away, heading to his lab.

Pushing aside the awkwardness, I turned to Peter and said, "Hi, I'm Y/n, and it's nice to finally meet Spider-Man."

He turned to me, cleared his throat and stated, "Uh, yeah. It's nice to meet you."
