{12} road trip

"Alright kid, see you when you get back," Happy sighed, unlocking the car door for me.

"See you later!" I say happily, I don't go on trips like this very often. I turn to hop out but Happy calls me.

"(Y/n)...just make good choices, please."

I looked towards him, fully knowing that I was planning on sneaking into a demon vulture man's evil lair on this trip, "Of course! Why my middle name is safety."

He deadpanned, "You and I both know it's not." He sighed, "See you soon."

I stood next to Mj, adjusting my jacket and waiting for Peter and Ned. Where are they?

"Hey it's Peter!" Abe called out.

"Hey guys, I was wondering if I could rejoin the team?"

"No, no way," Flash quickly stated. "There's no way you can just quit on us, stroll up, and be welcomed back by everyone."

Mr. Harrington stepped out of the bus, "Hey welcome back Peter! Flash, you're back to being first alternate."

"What?" He asked angrily.

"He's taking your place." I say, slightly glaring at the insecure jerk.

Flash opened his mouth to protest, but Mj cut him off, "Excuse me, can we go already? 'Cause I was hoping to get some light protesting in."

We love a woke queen.

I sat towards the back with Peter and Ned, finally taking a break from all of the practice questions we were doing. We were joking around when Peter got a call.

"Hello?" He pressed his phone up to his ear.

"I got a blip here on my screen it says you left New York?" I could faintly hear someone ask on the other end.

Peter leans towards me and whispers, "It's Happy."

I nod, "tracker?"

He looks towards me and only nods back. "Uh yeah...it's uh nothing. Just a school trip. Look Happy, I gotta say you tracking me is a complete violation of my privacy."

At this Ned and I point to our own hologram tracker, giving Peter funny looks. "That's different!"

"What's different?"

"Nothing! Look it's just the school decathlon it's not a big deal." Peter said, frustrated.

"Hey hey, I'll decide if it's no big deal...wait that's the one (Y/n)'s going on right?" Happy asks.

"Uhh yeah?"

"Sounds like it's no big deal...just remember I'm watching you."

I softly chuckle, turning back to Ned. He smiles, "This is going to be so great!"

Peter's Pov:

"Sounds like it's no big deal...just remember I'm watching you." Happy states.

"Right, right. Okay." I turn to end the call finally but Happy stops me.

"Peter...look can you watch out for (Y/n)? I know she can protect herself and all but I guess I'm a bit worried for her. Just make sure she's safe, alright?" Happy sighs out.

I look towards (Y/n)...her soft, yet subtle smile towards Ned made me subconsciously smile. "Yeah. Of course."

"Thanks."
