I had rolled out of bed, gotten ready, and gotten into the car so Happy could drive me to school. The whole trip there, I couldn't stop thinking about that day, about him.

~~~~~
"I'm Y/n, it's nice to finally meet Spider-Man."
Peter turned to me, cleared his throat and stated, "Uh yeah, it's nice to meet you."
I smiled, "So...I guess we'll be working together from now on," but Peter cut me off.
"Look, um you seem nice and all, but I don't need someone to look after me."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Peter, trust me, I would rather not be your babysitter, but I owe a lot to Tony. Let's just work together."
Peter looked down and away from me, then turned and softly said, "I have to go, I-i have a Spanish test I need to study for," and then walked into the elevator and left.
~~~~~

I sighed, wondering what I was going to do when Happy put the divider down between us.

"Okay kid, this is your stop."

I gently shake my head, pulling myself out of my thoughts. "Oh, right, thank you!"

Trying not to let my nerves get the best of me, I open the car door and step onto campus.

—————

After getting my schedule and textbooks, I wandered down the hallways, trying to find my locker. A television screen above me was playing the school's announcements and I noticed a couple of students flying a drone. Not paying attention, I bumped into someone.

Backing up, tightening my grip on my books, I quickly said, "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't see you there!"

The boy turned around, he had kind eyes and a soft smile. "That's okay...hey, I haven't seen you around here, are you new?"

I chuckle, "Yeah, I'm Y/n."

"Ned, it's nice to meet you." Ned replies. "So can I help you with anything?"

I sigh of relief, happy that I finally seemed to find a friendly face. "Yeah, actually."

—————

Ned and I walked around school, talking about the clubs and activities I could join there, like the decathlon team.

"And here's your locker!" Ned said, then realizing where we were, he looked over and noticed something. "Oh hey! Y/n your locker is right next to my best friend Peter's locker!"

Sneaking up on Peter, Ned pulls out a mini LEGO of Emperor Palpatine, and says "Join me, and together we'll build my new LEGO Death Star!"

Peter quickly turned around, "What? No way that's awesome! How many pieces?"

Ned grinned. "3,803!"

Peter sighed, "Thats insane," putting away his books.

I shut my locker-my arms relieved not to have to hold the heavy textbooks anymore-and walk up towards Ned and Peter. "Hey, Peter," I greet, slightly worried for what he was going to say.

"I-oh. Hey Y/n..." Peter says, his smile faltering a little.

"So you two know each other? That's cool! Peter, I invited Y/n to sit with us for lunch," Ned said excitedly, oblivious to the tension between the other two.

—————

Peter, Ned and I were walking through the halls of the school until we reached the cafeteria. Ned was talking about his love for Star Wars, while Peter mostly stayed quiet.

After grabbing our lunch we sat down at a table, talking about the Decathlon team when Ned nodded towards the front of the cafeteria saying, "Oh look! There's Liz."

Peter and Ned glance at her, "Did Liz get a new top?"

Ned shook his head slightly, "No, we've seen it before. But never with that skirt."

I turn and see Liz. She was hanging up a poster for the homecoming dance. I was able to hear her friend that had called out to her as I turned back around. I chuckle, "You know, you should probably stop staring before it gets creepy."

"Too late," I hear someone call out next to us. She had a stack of books that she was reading, and as she was turning the page she continued, "You guys are losers." She turned to me and quickly stated, "Not you though, you seem pretty cool."

Slightly offended, Ned asks, "Then why do you sit with us?"

"Because I don't have any friends."

I turn to her and extend my hand, "I'm Y/n. It's nice to meet you..."

"Michelle, but my friends call me Mj."

I smile, then say, "Well, it's nice to meet you Mj." We shake hands, and before I could ask her what novel she was reading, the bell rang.

Later, after a couple more boring classes, school finally ended. I sigh of relief and put my books away into my locker, thankful the school day was finally over. Ugh why did Tony think this was a good idea? I see Peter quickly shuffle down the hallway, where is he heading off to in such a rush? Pushing my notebook into my bag, I quickly follow after him.
