Chapter 1️⃣2️⃣

(Jin's POV)

Despite being not that fond of Taehyung, I couldn't help but rush with Namjoon after what Jimin declared.

A lot of possibilities were running around in my head but I couldn't decide what Taehyung had messed up.

So, frankly speaking, I was shocked when I saw Taehyung sitting in front of the detention room with his head in between his legs, “Hey Taehyung? You okay?” Namjoon asked. I didn't know what to say, as I had no idea what had happened, so I stayed quiet.

“Jungkook...he... how could he do that to me?” as Taehyung said this... I realized he had been crying.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration if I said that I had never seen him cry...at least for the last five years. So, I was yet again shaken.

“Tell me what happened, okay?” Namjoon asked in a soothing tone.

Who is Jungkook though?

(RM's POV)

I couldn't understand anything. What was Taehyung doing here, at this time? Where did Jungkook come from? What had Jungkook done? None. I just couldn't understand any of it.

Taehyung stayed silent even after I asked him what had happened and for a moment I thought about reading his mind. But then again, he's a mess right now, and so will be his brain. In short, it was of no use. “Tell me what happened Taehyung...”

This time though, he answered, “I was going to eat lunch with Chim and when we walked past the detention room I saw Jungkook inside...and I thought why not just see how well my practising session worked out. Jungkook was drawing something and I asked him what it was. I swear I was smiling but he flinched! I-” “I just wanted to have someone all to myself...”

I didn't even realize when I started reading his mind or why for that matter. But what he said confused me.   Someone he won't have to share? What?

What's more confusing was Jin's reaction or the lack of it. I concentrated a bit and his thoughts only confused me more, “Now you know what I have been feeling like all these years...”

“Who is this Jungkook?” Jin asked.

“A junior and umm Tae's crush...” Jimin replied hesitantly.

“Then what's Namjoon doing with this whole process?”

“I uhh- I thought I could help him with Jungkook...” I replied.

“Oh... Jimin, take care of Taehyung for now. And Namjoon, can you tell me more about this Jungkook guy?”

I nodded in agreement and Jin and I left, our burger was all cold and soggy now. But still, we ate it and I told him about Jungkook and how he became Taehyung's crush.

(Jin's POV)

“Wow...never thought Taehyung will love someone... other than himself, of course.” I couldn't help but snort.

“Why?” Namjoon asked.

“Well... you see he's-” No! Nonono... I shouldn't talk about this. I promised him.

With a confused look on his face, Namjoon asked me again, “He's what?”

I kept repeating ‘shut up’ in my head to stop myself from even thinking about the past but for some reason, Namjoon looked offended. Sighing, I gave the best possible response, “He's selfish.”

“Ah...well... I wouldn't say that. I mean he looks all scary and everything but I don't think he's selfish. It's like there's a void in him, you know?”

I had to raise an eyebrow when Namjoon said the word ‘void’. He must have noticed my expression as he continued explaining, “Recently I have noticed this blank look on his face...even when he's with Jimin. They are best friends, so I don't understand why this happens... I mean...”

He kept talking and, maybe was too immersed in it, didn't realise that I was not paying him any attention. The first thought that crossed my mind made me feel both pathetic and angry. I couldn't understand why even he was giving Taehyung so much attention. But then my previous emotions turned into sadness. It was really hard to put this feeling aside but I realised something.

Is his pain that obvious? Is that why Mom and Dad give him extra love? But if it is that obvious then why did I never see it?

A headache was beginning to form. At that moment I was too absorbed in my own self that I completely failed to notice Namjoon's rather intense look.
