Emilia wasn't going to lie.

The stares unnerved her.

Once she had entered the premise, all eyes had turned towards her. The stares varied from pure curiosity, subtle disgust, or Emilia's favorite, the death glares.

She heard numerous whispers echo in her ears, the conversations mushing together so she could only decipher a few confirmed sentences.

"It's that new girl-" One student started

"Yeah. I heard she's a impressive intellectual. Only reason she got into the school" Another snarked

"Smart or not. She doesn't deserve to be here" One huffed

She tried her best to ignore them as she walked to the admissions office. But the fact that she knew that they were looking and gossiping about her, made her extremely uncomfortable and self conscious.

Emilia saw a stout middle aged woman sitting at the counter, focusing on some documents in front of her.

"Miss?"

The lady looked up, squinting at her through her bejeweled cat eye glasses.

"Yes? May I help you young lady?"

Emilia gave her a polite smile. "Yes. Yes you can. I'm the new student. Emilia Wentz?"

Her eyes widened slightly in recognition of the name. "Oh yes! That's right. Give me a moment" She said ducking her head under the desk to pull out three thin sheets of white paper and a key.

"Here. There's a map of the school to prevent you from getting lost, your key number for your dorm, the academy rules, and your daily schedules for class" She said handing her each item as she named them.

Emilia gave her a small thanks before leaving the office, sheets and key in hand.

Gazing at the map, she felt completely overwhelmed. So many places and names detailed the paper, the sheet was so crowded with locations she didn't even know where to look first. Heck she couldn't pinpoint where she was currently on the map.

"Need some help?" A familiar voice hollered

Recognizing the person that voice belonged to, Emilia jolted, her head flying up in surprise.

It was none other than Antonio Vasiliou. The boy she met three days prior.

He had a amicable smile etched on his flawless features. A amused glint twinkling in his beryl blue-green eyes.

Oddly enough Emilia felt relief rush through her. Finally, someone she knew.

"Yes this place is a jungle" she complained "and this" Emilia said pointing to the map "is absolutely useless"

"Well then" he said holding out his elbow to her "Let me be your guide"

Emilia surveyed his gesture, not knowing what he wanted her to do.

Noticing her blank stare he sighed. "Latch onto my arm"

She crinkled her nose "Why?"
