Lily's Pov
I heard Jonathan's talk with Taylor. I didn't know he liked me that much, he could be in love with me for all I know. Why couldn't he tell me how he felt?
I wipe tears off my cheeks with the palm of my hand.
I hear my door creep open.
It's probably Jonathan. I ignore him, he can be mad at me if he wants.
I hear a cackle. That's what made me snap.
"Who's there?" I ask.
No one answers. There's no movement.
I turn for my seraph blade, but it's not there.
A figure steps in front of me.
"This is the price of Loving Jonathan Herondale." It whispers.
I scream as pain takes over my face.
Jonathan's POV
"Thank you for listening to me." I whisper to Taylor.
She smiles. Taylor is about to say something-
A scream courses through the Institute. A scream I recognize.
"Lily." I whisper as I run off.
She screams again.
I try to get into her room but the door is locked.
Mom, Dad, Taylor, Izzy, Simon, Magnus, Alec, Xavier, Sophie,and Mr. Porter come rushing torwads the door.
"Mom, it's locked and I don't have stele!" I cry.
"It's okay, I got one." Mom tries to calm me down. She draws a unlocking rune on the door.
I rush in.
Lily is on her knees holding her face.
"Lily, shhh. Let me see your face." I whisper.
She lets go of her face, around her eyes, her flesh is being burn away and her eyes are like marbles.
"Someone get the Silent Brothers."
