It's been five days since Farida and Jalaal arrived.

Jalaal spent only a night before leaving the next day but not until he met Ali at the office.

Ali hates to admit it but he's been avoiding his wife for the past week, what he did was really stupid and he couldn't understand why he did that. Since he could smoothly drive himself home then he didn't have much pills to take and so was sober.

Then what the hell made him do that?!

Amira on the other hand had too many things to handle and thinking about a Zainab she knew nothing about was only gonna be extra pain so she tried hard to block the thought out. Moreover, she's his wife and his dearest Zainab is just a mistress so he should deal with it but never should he mistake them ever again.

Did she just sound jealous?!

She tried hard to concentrate on her upcoming tests and staying away from any deep conversations with Farida.

Ali had come home the same night Jalaal left and met with his sister, Amira's up in her room so she had no clue what they talked about.

But seems it's just a casual discussion as Farida came back with a silly pout saying her brother said she's looking puffy and Ali left early the next morning without calling on Amira so she believed all is well and maybe her worry was just for nothing.

Besides, Farida had been her usual chatty self, it's even worse now that she's preggers.

Farida came in peace, Amira thought.

She's in the kitchen preparing dinner after a long day at school when Farida came in.

She leaned over the doorcase staring at Amira who was busy frying potatoes.

She knew without doubt that Amira'd changed, in every way. Her laughs were less, she talked less, always busy with her books and rarely cares about what was happening around her, which were all odd.

Rather than read on a day she had no exams, she'd prefer hanging around, wasting the day away or trying out new recipes.

All that had changed. Farida tried to believe it's because she'd been transferred to a different school and was still getting used to the environment but decided against it. Amira was gifted, super intelligent and grabs almost everything in a bit of time, she habituated quite easily and didn't let things get the best of her.

But this Amira's different, Farida had every reason to believe it had everything to do with her brother.

Amira turned around to pick a plate and her hands flung to her chest as if to keep her heart in place. "Gosh, you startled me there." She sighed.

"You didn't know I was here?" Farida rose a questioning brow.

"How'd I?" Amira headed to the dish rack.

That's another thing. Amira always knew it if someone is close to her and could rightly pick out who it was without even looking, especially if it's someone close to her. She just does it. And it surprised Farida that she didn't notice her.

"Oh." She walked in and sat on a stool, taking two slices of bread from the island top.

They went quiet again, Amira frying the chips and making salsa while Farida ate her spread bread.

"Mira?"

"Hmm."

"What's up?"

"With?"

"You."

Amira stopped on her dish and faced Farida. "Me? Nothing."

Farida stood up, wiping the sides of her mouth with a tissue. She's seriously doubled her weight. "You might be really hard to read at times but you've already made it obvious," She stood besides her. "You aren't okay Mira."
