5.) Twelve Years

C H A P T E R  F I V E

PERCY

I was woken up by someone shaking me and telling me to get up.

"Go away. 'M not hungry," I mumble.

The person shakes me some more. "Percy, you've got to get up. Your friends are waiting for you outside."

"I don't care."

The person groans. "Percy, they won't leave until you get up."

I slowly open my eyes to see Will standing over me. I sit up and look around the cabin. "I'll get ready then." I sigh and take a shower and brush my teeth. I make my hair at least a little decent and walk out of the bathroom after getting dressed.

"Onwards," I say tiredly, holding back a yawn while motioning forward with my hand. Will rolls his eyes at me and opens the door.

I'm greeted with four pairs of eyes staring me down. "You take forever to get up," Frank tells me which I answer with a grin.

"That's the point. I like to make you guys wait."

"It's wack," Leo grumbles.

"That's my word, asshole. Get your own." I glare playfully at him.

"You didn't make it."

I raise an eyebrow. "I don't care whether I made it or not, I said it first."

"You know what they say." Calypso starts. "You start saying words someone else says when you look up to them."

I tilt my head. "Why would he look up to me? I'm a dick."

Leo puts a hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter and Calypso gently hits his head.

"Idiot," she says with a smile and Leo just grins at her.

"Disgusting," I tell them, wrinkling my nose slightly.

Leo blinks at me. "We didn't even do anything!"

"You would've."

"Oh, please, you and Will did more than that the other day."

"There was a reason."

He stiffens slightly. "Sorry about that."

I wave him off. "It's fine. It wasn't too bad. Gotta get used to it someway. Exposure therapy, y'know?"

He frowned but I smiled at him, silently telling him everything was okay.

"You guys wanna go now?" Hazel looks between us. "Or are we going to continue staring at each other like a bunch of idiots?"

I roll my eyes and grab Will's hand as we make our way to the dining pavilion. We sit down at the Hades table and I lean back in my seat.

"We are idiots, Hazel. There's no changing that."

She rolls her eyes as she leans into Frank.
