PERCY

When I woke up, I felt weird. It wasn't the fact that we had all fell asleep on the floor after playing a bunch of games. It felt more...I can't explain it. Animalistic? Can one feel like that? Right now I have the urge to just run in woods or curl up beside Nico.

I sat up and looked around the room. The pack were whispering in the opposite corner.

"Morning, Percy."

I crawled over to them and placed my head on Hazel's shoulder. "Where's Nico?"

Leo scoffed and shook his head. "Of course you immediately notice he's gone and don't even say 'good morning'." Leo's grin gave him away that he didn't actually mean it. Or maybe he did, but he just didn't care. "He has to do something. He'll be back later."

I nodded.

"Also, what's up with your eyes?"

I frowned. "Are they purple?"

"One of them." It took a bit to catch up in my tired state until I suddenly snapped my eyes open and ran to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and sure enough, one of my eyes was glowing purple while the other was my normal sea-green color.

"Oh, shit." I ran to my room and picked up a drachma before running over to the kitchen and spraying the water into the sink in line with the sun to create a rainbow. I asked for Annabeth and waited a few seconds before she popped up.

"Annabeth!"

She looked at me, startled. "Dude, what the— wait why is your eye purple?"

"I don't know! Didn't your research say anything about this?"

She took a moment to think before her eyes widened. "Okay, so I read that only a werewolf with a human mate can change one eye color, but it's against their will. It's most commonly the first stage before..."

"Before what?"

Annabeth shrugged. "They go all crazy or something. More wolf-like though some people just say they go rogue."

"Dammit," I groaned.

Annabeth gave me a sad look. "It sucks that the Fates picked you to have a human mate."

"I know. Just makes my life ten times better," I tell her bitterly. "Whatever, I got to go." I swiped my hand through the Iris Message and sat in the ground, my face in my hands. I sighed and pulled my self up and to the pack.

"You look even worse than you just did. What happened to you?" Leo asked.

"I hate having a mate," I groaned and laid down on the ground with my head on Hazel's lap this time.

Hazel smiled at me as she ran her hands through my hair. "You only say that when Nico's gone, did you know?"

I blinked before shrugging. "Well because I like Nico. He makes it bearable." A small smile finds its way to my face and I place my arm over my eyes. "When's he coming back?"
