"Mornin' uncle Finn." Astrid said happily as she bounded into the living room.

"Mornin' sweet pea, want something to drink?" Finn asked, holding up a platter of wooden cup.

"What is it?" She cringed back, remembering the last time her uncle made something to drink. He called it coffee, made from these really beans that trader Johann said he got from far away. It was very bitter for Astrid's taste.

"It's your Yaknog! Don't worry, i followed the recipe to a T."

Astrid shrugged and took a cup. She had never tried her own concoction. She took one sip and her face went sour.

"Ugh!" She spit it back into the cup. "Are you sure this is MY Yaknog?"

"Yeah, what? Do you not like it?" He said and took his first slip, but spit it out immediatly. "Ugh, i see what you mean."

"Remind me to fix that later." Astrid said. "Right now i need to find Hiccup."

"Alright, have fun." He called.

Astrid stopped in the doorway. "Uncle, this is hard core training of 15 year olds in the art of training dragons that I am in charge of since Hiccup is now chief. It is not fun." She said seriously.

"Okay...have fun." He said.

"Okay." She said happily and ran out the door.

The blonde viking called to her dragon, who came immediately and took off with her rider on her back. Astrid went to her boyfriends house, so that she could look over the agenda that they had made together. It helped a lot so that they did not repeat lessons at the academy. They were behind now, seeing the past few days events, but Astrid was determined to get back to where they were, even though she was thinking that Hiccup would put her in charge now, since he would no be able to upkeep it himself along with the village, and put Fishlegs as her second in command.

The viking trampled through the fresh snow. It had snowed a night and accumulated at least six inches. She had a little trouble, sliding up the hill on her worn boots. Alas, she finally made it up and knocked on the Haddock household door.

The door shuttered and slid open, revealing Valka.

"Hey Astrid, come in." She greeted.

Astrid thanked her, shook the snow off her boots and entered. She welcomed the warm air that flowed throughout the house with open arms.

"Is Hiccup here?" She asked.

Valka shook her head. "No, he didn't come home last night. He is probably a the forge...asleep."

"Oh, okay. But may i go get the dragon training agenda, i think he keeps it in his room."

Valka shook her head and gestured upstairs, "by all means."

Astrid smiled and nodded. She climbed the stairs with ease and pushed open the door. It had been a couple of weeks since she had been here, sometimes she would sneak off a night and spend the night with him or they would enjoy the cold days indoors, cuddled up under the furs, with the door open of course, and just read, sleep in each others arms, and doodle. Her uncle, however, was not very fond of their closeness. Don't get him wrong though, he was all for Hiccup and Astrid being together because he saw how happy the chief made his niece, but he complained how unconventional sleepovers and being alone together was. She had spent countless hours with him, trying to explain to him that she and Hiccup were not, as Tuffnut puts, 'doing the dirty deed'. Usually he just stomped away, muttering about how he did not want to have this conversation.

Anyways, the chiefs girlfriend looked around the messy room. His furs were strewn across the floor, pillow on toothless' slab and a fresh dagger wound on the wall. Astrid did not worry about it though, she knows that his pain showed here was over. Picking up the furs and pillows, she placed them neatly over the double bed that her boyfriend had gotten a few years ago when he hit his growth spurt when he was around 17 years old.
