Terrible Terrors sounded throughout Berk, screeching at the top of their lungs and waking everyone in the village, including their chief. Toothless grumbled, scratching at his ears and trying to cover them. Hiccup groaned and stood on his only leg, wavering with sleep still nipping at him. He fumbled around, looking for his metal leg. After finding it on the side table and strapping it on, he walked over to the hatch in the ceiling that he forgot to close last night. With a tug of a cord he let it down, locking it into place.
Toothless crooned happily. He stood and rewarmed his slate before tucking his head within himself once more. Hiccup fell back down on his bed, wrapping the blankets around him.
"Five more minutes bud." He yawned.
Just as he closed his eyes, Valka busted through the doors.
"Wakey wakey my little chief." She said, walking over tk the hatch, pulling it open.
Hiccup groaned, pulling his blankets over his head. "Mom, don't you knock? What if i was..."
"Was what?" She interjected. "With Astrid? Well I hope you are being careful, i know Gothi has this special dung that she gets from..."
Hiccup shot up from the blankets, revealing himself in only his trousers. "No! I was going to say getting dressed! Why does everyone think that?"
Valka chuckled. "Who else?"
"Um, let me see. Finn, Tuffnut, you, i'm sure the rest of the gang, Gobber, and dad did as well..." He trailed on, listing the people who have told him to be careful and what not.
Hiccup cocked his head to the side. "Dung?"
Valka nodded. "Apparently these Egyptan, um, no...Egyptians, used it to prevent concep..."
Hiccup waved her off. "Yeah, yeah, i get it. I don't need to hear any more."
A light knock rang from the door downstairs. "Come in!" Valka yelled.
"Morning Mrs. Haddock...where are you?" Astrid asked, brushing off a thin layer of snow her body had accumulated while walking over.
Valka walked to Hiccups doorway. "Up here."
Astrid looked up and smiled at the woman. She jogged up the stairs, taking them two at a time. A smile was plastered on her face until she saw the distraught look on her boyfriends face.
She frowned. "What's wrong babe?" She asked from Valka's side.
He began pacing in front of Toothless, who was still trying to get some shut eye.
He started doing the thing with his hands and arms. "Mom's in on it too."
"In on what?" Astrid asked as she looked up to a giggling Valka.
Hiccup stopped and gestured between them. "She thinks that we're..."
The blondes face turned bright red. "I think that i'll just be..." She said, pointing down the stairs.
Hiccup face palmed and grabbed his flight suit, walking into his bathroom. Astrid started down the stairs.
"Oh, before you go." Valka said, making Astrid stop. "Hiccup denied going to unveil his fathers statue...said it would open up his wounds again. But he asked if you would like to do it for him, with Toothless."
"I would be honored." Astrid said, placing her hand over her heart.
Valka smiled and guided her downstairs. "Also." She whispered. "The...thing....is finished."
Astrids eyes lit up. "Is it?"
Valka nodded as the took a seat on the couch, in front of the roaring fire. "Shall i keep it here until Snoggletog? I assume you and your uncle will be joining us?"
