Before leaving the village, I was met by some Faeries and Faefolk, who surrounded me with applause.
I laid out my hands trying to dodge their praise.
I didn't feel it was fit or deserving.
But the small boy who was sick moments before, came to my face and planted a tiny kiss on the cheek.
It felt like the brush of a soft feather tip.
I held out my palms where he sat for a moment, as I wished him well, along with the others.
And soon enough, we were on our way.
This would be a moment I certainly remember for the rest of my days.
We made our way back to the waterfall and I could not help but notice a path of gold that now traced around her body.
Aye.
It was not there before.
She parted the waters once more and I stepped through it.
Blimey, what a sight!
My eyes shined upon the view before me.
No longer were there great stones caging the water from the falls. On my right, where the rock formation once was, a heavenly forest now grew tall and powerful. Cutting right through it was a miraculous river with glowing lights and blue hues. On my left was a small sandy trail leading to the Islands main beach. The water before me also glowed brightly as though it was a pure form of light itself.
She turned back to meet me, smiling.
It was then that I felt the shame sink.
"I'm sorry," I said truthfully, not really meeting her gaze in return.
"What for, Zyrena?" She spoke, melodically.
"I have misjudged you. I am sorry." I replied.
She only continued to smile.
"You have saved us. There is no need for you to be sorry. I am thankful to you, Captain."
She gestured forward.
As I followed, green patches of grass formed at my feet, where there was once water.
Beneath my boots, I could feel how soft the ground was.
"What is your name?" I finally asked, realizing that all this time I hadn't been mannered enough to find out.
However, in my defense, I was faced with an unexpected turn of events.
"Rosavari." She spoke.
Rosavari.
I admit, I never heard anything like it before.
"A little late and overdue, but pleasure to meet you," I said awkwardly.
She turned around, a small laugh exited in harmonic tunes.
"Likewise, Captain Zyrena."
My chest warmed at her kindness.
Once we made it back to the shell, she took her place once more inside of it and sat down. Her silk satin dress flowing to cover her front and backside.
"From here you must swim beneath the water where you will find three openings. Tunnels if it is easier to say. You will go through the one in the middle. It will lead you straight to the cove behind the island. You will find your mates there. And there, you will see a middle opening that is a cave." She started.
