I had no immediate response.

I blinked and watched Tairan carefully.

What was going through my mind in this very instant... I didn't know.

This was certainly a lot to take in.

First, the traveler being our father. Second, the Pirate Queen being our mother.

Did I die somewhere in between our fight at sea?

Aye, is this all a dream?

Maybe.

"I promise, this is the truth." Tairan interrupted my thoughts.

I looked at him now and exhaled exhaustedly.

"This... is crazy." That was all I could muster up to say.

"I know. I couldn't really understand it myself at first."

"Is this what father was trying to tell me too? How come he lied before? He could've said that the woman he loved was the Pirate Queen -"

But my questions were interrupted with the door slamming open.

Greeting us with messy hair and frantic looks, were Layalia and Rycan.

"Captain, may we speak to you for a moment?" Layalia asked.

I nodded.

"Tairan. Thank you. We'll continue this soon. I'll be right back."

He nodded, staring out the door as the doctor watched us leave his home.

When we all regrouped outside, it was just the four of us.

Rycan. Layalia. Kivyein and I.

"What's going on?"

Rycan lowered his head to speak in a low murmur.

"Cap'n. It seems like we have company. The Queen's crew has arrived here looking for us. I don't think they'll find the ship. We have our crew back there, guarding it. I think the lot of us need to remain low however. We've informed the others. But I think you especially need to remain out of sight." Rycan indicated.

I bit my lip.

Blast the Queen to the depths of hell.

"Aye. Then keep low. We need to find a secluded area to meet every dusk and dawn. Let's make sure we stay informed on everything we need to. This is just until Tairan is able to board again."

Layalia and Rycan both nodded.

Kivyein gave me a sincere smile.

"I'm going to stay with him in the meantime," he added.

I nodded.

It made me feel better, especially now that Tairan was awake.

"I think I might just know a place we can meet in secret," Layalia added with a grin.

Once again, I hadn't realized how late it was.

The sun was already rising high in the sky. Many of us were unable to sleep. Constantly on guard.

Then there was me.

A storm of thoughts clouding my mind.

I wasn't able to rest, even if I wanted to.

After some time of walking and ducking through mangled trees and branches, we finally arrived.

From the looks of it, it seemed deserted.
