Aye, the northern sea has always been one of my favorite places.

The weather is significantly cooler compared to the other seas.

And thankfully, the next few nights greeted us in a peaceful passage throughout the sea.

But even still. Tairan and I found ourselves to be absolutely restless.

I hardly got any sleep after our visit and he stayed awake most nights helping everyone he could on the ship.

It was now the third night and I lay awake.

Tairan has been meaning to talk to me for some time now but I didn't have the heart to hear anything more after the one meeting I was granted with our father.

I thought I would talk to him when I felt ready. And when I was ready I would also read the books I was gifted.

So instead, for now, I held the map.

The palm-sized charcoal and gold rimmed treasure box felt as light as a few doubloons. As it opened in the dark of my room, it's lights scattered all across my walls and the ceiling.

I gazed up, in wonder.

It could only show Cevaria and the World Beyond Ours. But there were also bright, larger lights without detail, which I had to assume belonged to other worlds.

Many legends tell of the existence of other worlds and if they're true, then I want to see them all One day.

Perhaps.

Aye, one day.

I tried to shut my eyes but to no avail.

Three knocks sounded at the door and my eyes immediately flew open.

"Come in," I announced.

Footsteps followed after, revealing Layalia and Rycan. Rycan made his way to my desk to take a seat as Layalia sat at the edge of my bed.

I sat up now, curious to know what the reason was behind their frowning.

"Aye, what's the matter?" I asked.

Layalia and Rycan shared looks.

"Sorry to be disrupting your sleep, Captain. We might have a problem."

My eyes narrowed now.

Blimey, what now?

As we stood on the upper deck with Bali steering the helm, I looked through my monocular and saw an unpleasant sight.

"You're right," I responded.

Layalia and Rycan shared concerned looks.

I lowered the monocular, deep in thought.

Bloody gates of hell.

"Who is it? Do you recognize the ship?" Layalia asked.

"No." I then turned around to face Bali.

"Bali!"

She stiffened and tilted her head to meet me.

"Aye Capn' what be the problem?"

I walked toward her and opened the monocular for her to take a peek. As she did so, she winced, in slight panic.

"We're being followed."

"Captain, should we change route? What if we detour north west? It might take a bit longer but I know there are many islands scattered near each other. If we cut through them and make our own route, we can get them off our tale," Rycan suggested.
