Most of our crew were waiting by the cove.
They were each sharing in their adventures out at sea.
Kivyein and I on the other hand, found a spot by the shore to sit.
We climbed up on a few of the rocks that the water splashed against.
The only time we could spare were a few short minutes, which was all we needed.
The Queen's fleet might still be on this island.
But at least we now know that the other pirates Rycan spotted belonged to Kivyein's crew.
"You know, you didn't have to go that far. That was a bit excessive," I called out.
"Trust me, neither pistols were loaded." He admitted.
We both then laughed as the seagulls in the night sang and the murmurs of our crew echoed. The peaceful sound of the waves crashed upon the rocks beneath us.
The night felt calming, to say the least.
"So you really did find it then, love." Kivyein stated. He sat close by me as we watched the shore. I was captivated by a sense of nostalgia that took me back to when we were children.
Bloody ages ago.
"Aye. I did."
My thoughts were trailing in many directions.
While the breeze swept over us, I caught the faint scent of sandalwood.
He smelled good for a pirate.
Earlier, he handed his first mate his coat.
Underneath it was a tightly fit white shirt.
His arms were free.
Up close, I could see the subtle outline of his veins, they reminded me of rivers that guided the eyes up towards his shoulders.
"I have heard many tales of your adventures, Captain Zyrena. You have made yourself known throughout the seas."
"I didn't think that would happen. I wasn't trying to," I said.
"Ah, but nevertheless, it did." He teased.
"Aye, I guess so."
I stared out into the hue of blue beyond the sea.
"What's the matter? You don't seem to be happy right now."
"It's not important. We don't have a lot of time as it is. I am happy to see you, I am. I just didn't really believe it would ever happen again." I said truthfully.
He then smiled.
"Well, I always did."
I gave him a look.
"Really? And why is that?"
"That's something meant to be shared for next time. But for now, Captain Zyrena. You have a mission to finish. The one you dreamt about when you were a little lass. I remember when we were younger, back on the island. All you would ever talk about was adventures and finding the map. You wanted to see the whole world. And now? Well, you damn near did."
I smiled, deep in thought.
"Aye and what about you? It seems like you've finally made yourself a captain. I bet your ship is exactly what you've dreamt it to be." I stated.
Then a sudden question lingered in my mind.
"Kivyein. What are you doing on this island? Did you hear about the map being here too?"
