"I don't like that guy. Something seems off about him." I told Steve as we entered the elevator full of Strike team members.
The elevator doors opened again and Rumlow walked, stepping next to me.
"Cap, Spider." Rumlow greeted.
"Rumlow." Steve greeted staring ahead.
"It's a shame what happened to Fury. I'm sorry."
"Thank you." Steve cleared his throat. I fixed my jacket, feeling an off vibe in the elevator.
One of the agents in front of me, touched his gun suspiciously, while I noticed a few others were sweating. It wasn't even hot in here. The elevator dinged open on another floor, two more strike agents stepping in.
I glanced at Steve and he nodded subtly, letting me know he noticed it to.
"Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?" Steve asked glancing around the room.
I felt an electric shock go through my body and it made me remember when Electro entered my body. I hissed, grabbing the electric rod and snapping it in half. I dropped it to the ground and socked the man in the face, his body jeering to the right. I felt a weight on my back and gagged, his arm going around my throat and pulling back. I slammed his body back against the elevator wall, two agents running towards me and trying to put a magnetic cuff around my wrist.
I grunted, using all my strength to make sure that didn't happen. One of the agents head butted me and my movements faltered, my wrist sticking to the wall. I felt a harsh blow to my stomach and double over, wheezing and coughing. Steve slammed one of the men against the wall, knocking him out. I slammed my head back against the agent behind me, his body falling limp and I gasped in a breath. I ripped the magnetic cuff off my wrist and glared at Rumlow.
"You know, Spider, I couldn't help but think that you looked a little familiar. And then it just dawned on me.. how's your mother?"
"w-what?" I faltered.
"Surprised?" Rumlow smirked.
I growled, tackling Rumlow against the other side of the elevator. I clenched my jaw when I felt a surge of electricity fire my nerves from the electric rod. I slammed him against the elevator wall again, his body going limp in my arms and I dropped him, seeing Steve panting from beside me.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yeah. You?"
Steve nodded. I turned back to Rumlow and kicked him in the ribs, not daring to hold back my strength. Faintly I heard a few cracks and didn't hide the satisfied smirk, knowing I broke a few ribs.
Steve grunted, prying open the elevator doors. My eyes widened when I saw another strike unit running towards us. I helped Steve close the doors and we just looked at each other.
"Where the hell are we going to go? They're just going to keep looking for us." I hissed.
"We're going to have to jump." He said looking at the glass backing of the elevator.
I let out a heavy sigh, nodding reluctantly as I pulled my spider mask out from my pocket, pulling it over my head. Steve and I ran, jumping through the glass. I shot a web at the street lamp the closer we got to the ground, shooting a web at Steve and giving us a semi gracefully landing. I pushed myself off the ground, feeling my bones ache from the fighting.
"Let's go. We need to get that flash drive."
Steve dusted the glass off his shoulders and I nodded.[...]
