Part 18: The Search for Power

Abel wanted to show everyone that even immortals can be punish as long as they disagreed with him and present Yuki who is badly injured and is already weak. Mirasol note that even immortals has a chance to die but unlike others they were be vanished if their life ended. She feels bad for herself by loving a man who turn out to be evil as he let the greed eats him, as she recall the hateful comment she told to Yuki she feels pain because of her naivety. Mark hold her hand as he recognize the madness in her emotion and it calms the lady. They decided to blend in to see a glimpse of Yuki but Henry can't bare to see her suffer in public as more whip slashes her body but experiencing a lot of pain already she manage to stay silent as more people sympathy with her.

As they continue to whip her suddenly a smoke form in the area followed by the body of the guards falling to the ground lifeless. The commotion occur as many people runs in fear for their life, Henry take the opportunity to release Yuki but a guard stop him and attack. As he panics a person emerge behind him and kill the guard. He shout at the guy to hurry and Henry waste no time to release the girl. He carried her to safety while the more man who wears a clown mask protect them. The other guy pulls them to a house where Mirasol and Mark stay, they help the girl and Mirasol recognize their savior as her friend who is also an immortal task to guide Abel in becoming an immortal.

He said that the man becomes greedy so having no choice he abandon their friendship and help those in need. He also knows about the responsibility that Yuki holds and her connection to Abel's destiny. It was a news to Mirasol as she did not expect that the two were connected by the tole they play in their land. She has a lot of question but they have no time a fights continue, they run to safety and the guy told them a good place to hide.

They carried Yuki who is already unconscious in the deep of the mountain and Mirasol recognized the place where the stone once located. They help them hide in the forest and even set a barrier to escape. Soon other groups join them and Mirasol recognize others as her friend and family as she tearfully reunite with them. Mark cried together with them and decided to join a hug but one girl push him away and soon everyone looks at the guy suspiciously until Mirasol introduced him to them. They also surprise to see a new face of Yuki whom they called Beauty much to Mark's amazement but Mirasol give no answer as she is also puzzled to the event.

When they assure that they're safe Mirasol looks around and a voice behind her called the lady's old name, it was the same guy who helped them and a former friend of Abel. Mark saw them and smitten by Mirasol's name before whom he comment to be beautiful. The guy knows her relationship to Abel whom he still call Caleb and ask about her feelings to him. Mark heard their conversation and saw how Mirasol cried her heart out to the guy. He realized that she still love him despite telling them the she feels mad because he only used her in the past, upon knowing that he has no chance to be notice by the girl he love Mark walk away from them with sadness.

They did not recognized Mark and Mirasol continue to cry as she said that she feels bad for her past action of betraying Yuki and even choosing the guy over her friend. She realized now how pathetic she is for seeing him bad and continue to follow him. The man assured her that it was not her fault as he is also a victims of blinded loyalty. He ask about the man she was with and Mirasol told him that it was Mark and told to be a friend but the guy did not believe in her reason and knows that she feels more that a simple affection towards him. They ended their conversation and Mirasol aimlessly walk thinking about all the good deeds that Mark done to her even in the land of the human, she feels embarrass for herself for not believing Mark's true intention and wanted to confront him to ask about his real emotion.

She found him sitting near the river and look sad, the lady wanted to join him but Mark feeling in sorrow avoids her much to Mirasol's confusion. They join the others and Mark continue to avoid the lady that even Henry notice but got no answer to his cousin's attitude. A news came that Yuki finally regains her consciousness and the trio immediately went to her, they saw her siting in her bed and is talking to the leader of the group that save them. Henry approach her and she looks at him, the guy knows that she is still in pain and she smiled at him assuring that she feels fine. Mark came and immediately hug her making Yuki punch him in the side as he flinch in pain. Mirasol hesitate to come and she notice it, Yuki call her and soon they both crying as they are hugging. She told her friend that Abel admitted about his action in the past and only used her since he knows that she love him so much that Mirasol is willing to betray her friends. She added that she already forgive her and admit that by doing it the pain she feels lessen much to Mirasol's relief.

She tried to stand and saw the remaining creature who fights with them but her body is too weak as she decided to take a few rest but request to see have a conversation to the group who is in charge of the team. A man named Winter talk to her and told about the status of the land and she recognized that he is the reason why the snow has no cold when it pour. He told them that it is the cause of his weakened power as state that he already lost the ability to control the weather and is concern to the event in the human land. Yuki said that more calamity occur to the land as she continue to feels the omen. They ask for the stone and Yuki admits that it was in her all along surprising her friend. She explain that the revelation has been found recently and it is because Abel pour her the knowledge. Mirasol remembered the conversation she had with Mi Ja and told Yuki that the family heirloom that Henry has is already been sold long ago and believe that Abel is the guy who brought the said item. Yuki is confused for knowing the fact since Abel continue to ask her about the half stone and wonder why he still looking at it even though the stone is already in his hand.

She stays in her bed and trying to derived a plan to get the stone in Abel's hand but she loss focus when she smelled a nice food and decided to look outside. She saw everyone having a feast and amazed by their gathering. The other kids pull her to join and soon she found her lips in the chest of Henry, the guy feel awkward but Yuki did not notice as she continue to smell his fragrance despite the close proximity she has. She even hug the confuse guy as she looks like sucking the scent in his body. Mirasol saw them and forcefully separate, she scold Yuki for her behavior but the lady found no issue about her action. Realizing that it is not the first time she do the inappropriate act Mirasol ask why she feels so captivated by his scent and Yuki also wonder why. The children invite them to join the dance and found all their self in the middle facing each other. Yuki grab Henry's hand and force the confused guy to join her, she pulls him despite his disagreement, Mirasol also comes face to face with Mark but the guy continue to avoid her much to the lady's annoyance so she also forcefully grab his hand and force him to dance with her.

As they all dancing with their partner, Yuki told to Henry that she feels sorry for draging them in her land and almost put their life in danger. But being a good person Henry assured her that no one is at fault and wanted no one to blame one another. He assured her that if necessary he will stay in her side to fight but Yuki burst his bubble saying that a normal creature has no much to those who got power no matter how big or small it has. Henry glare at her and Yuki laugh sweetly to his reaction. He was captivated by her smile and pull her into a kiss much to the lady's shocked, he release her lips and ask for forgiveness but Yuki laugh it off saying that she is the type of person who forgive easily and pull him into a long passionate kiss. The two are having a great moment while Mirasol and Mark dance in awkward silent, the lady ask explanation to his attitude but he keep a tight lips so Mirasol grab his face a force him to look at her. He finally admit that he saw her cry and told that it was Abel whom she love, Mirasol is speechless by his assumption and laugh shyly. Mark though that she tease him but the lady assure the opposite, she express her worry for their different world and Mark assume that she pushes him away but she continue that her word is not to push him but to have a confirmation about his feelings towards her. So Mark admits that what he show is the real emotion the guy feels for her and accept her as she is, he told the lady that he doesn't care whether he will not be with her forever but promised to stay as long as he live. Mirasol started to have a teary eyes because of his confession and admit that she feels scared because accepting him means she needs to endure the pain just like Yuki and has no idea if she can also do those things. She gives her reason but the guy just stare at her lovingly and kiss the lady who is shocked by his action.

The night becomes deep and soon everyone started to rest while others guard the entrance, Henry volunteered but was rejected reasoning that he is a mortal and can't handle the fight if it occur so instead he just returned back and soon fall asleep instantly, much to the amazement of Yuki. As the place becomes quiet the lady decided to step outside as she has a trouble of sleeping, as she walks Yuki found a river and decided to rest there but as she goes closer the lady notice a shadow figure and silently approach it. But it was only Mark who is like her has a good mood and having a trouble to sleep. Mark happily announce to his friend about his relationship to Mirasol and at first the girl has a trouble to believe but soon congratulate her friend for a happy moment he experience. They shared their own happiness to each other as they both in joy for each other's relationship, as the conversation deepen Mark confess that Mirasol told them about her punishment and the word rings to Yuki's ear and remembered the actual consequences of her action and that is to vanish.
