Part 16: Past that affect the Present

As Mi Ja jump to the portal, she has no idea that it was only her who manage to returned to their land. She wakes up to find herself in a hospital, she can't believed that the gate will point her to Africa. With no passport in hand Mi Ja put herself in trouble to the consular as she can't explained how she got to the land without documentation. Luck on her side the land currently experience calamity as the crops were destroyed by insect and Mi Ja promised to help by founding the project for their agriculture in exchange of sending her back to her country in secret. 

Returning back to the Philippines, she decided to look for the auction that sold rare gems but found nothing. She notice that the half of stone she carried turn into a beautiful gem and figure out that the destiny stone might also turn into a gem of perfection because it has already in beauty from the land of immortals. Unknown to the used of the object she tried different pose but only put her in comedic situation. She tried to hold onto it and soon make a connection to Yuki, she feels happy that almost fall on her chair upon hearing the voice of her friend. Yuki told her that the gate closed upon her entry leaving Mark and Henry stranded, the immortal feels sorry the trouble that Mi Ja experience that being a good person she assured her that her experience is fine and even help the lady to find the problem of other country as she experience hunger by herself due to the problem for insect they experience and this calamity is tied up to the situation that Yuki's land experience.

Mi Ja told Yuki about her failed search to the stone, she even describe the gem to make sure that no details have been left out and upon hearing the description Henry told them about his familiarity to the said stone. He told them a heirloom that past thru generation and said that his family believe it to bring fortune to their family. Mi Ja ask the location of the stone but Henry has no idea about place because he only see the stone when he was a child, Yuki got a theory that it was the stone who helps Henry regain his past memories. Mi Ja force Henry to to remember the place where he found the stone but he only said that it was in their family house before and no idea where his family put the said stone but he told Mi Ja to see his father to ask about the items and also to said that he is fine making sure that they will not worried to him.

Mirasol and Mark return back and the expression on Yuki's face show that something is bothering her, when Henry tried to explain she tap him asking not to tell about the news they found. The group settled for the night and the next morning they cautiously step outside to see that the place is safe for them to continue. They decided to travel ahead but Yuki told them that they should go to the place where the Destiny Book is located much to confusion of Mirasol since they all planed is to go to the palace to confront Abel. Mark reminds Mirasol that her idea of peace to the guy who wants to kill them is absurd, Yuki even added that it is necessary to see the Creator first and ask for advice. Mirasol agreed and so they continue on their journey, along the way they saw another town and Yuki feels strange about the place since no one can be see around. Suddenly they were attacked by group of people and the immortals found some new ability as they used against the people, the town recognized them as higher immortal and stop attacking. Mark immediately hide at the back of Mirasol and Henry went to Yuki's side. Soon the group locate inside and fix the misunderstanding, Yuki stays silent as she tried to figure out the new ability they gain and Mirasol is the one having a conversation since her face did not change. Henry and Mark look around and notice some children who were sitting in the corner, one of them caught their attention as the kid is shivering from cold. They check on him and found that he is suffering from fever long time ago but since the kids is too young to know his destiny they assume that he will travel on the land of the dead soon and will enter reincarnation. The mother of the child explained to them that the rule of the land is different from their world since every are destined when they reach their right age, some will die at old age and will reincarnate as mortal while some where become immortal and will handle a certain task. Yuki join them as the mother explained that those who where born from a tree of life has a destiny of being a highest immortal. It was a new information to Yuki as she thought that the land's creature where only given by the tree and first time to heard that no matter the status a person has, they have the ability to give birth. She realized that everything is thought about the land is half lie as she only believes that it was the tree who is responsible to the life of the realm. She ask Mirasol about her findings and the lady did not deny the knowledge and even admit that those who were born by tree is giving a pampered life as they were only few and has a responsibility to hold a bigger task. She further explained to Yuki that those who is like her are considered a highest immortal and even named Abel as like her. She said that they were raise in the palace and allow to know only a limited knowledge of the land, Yuki realized that everything Mirasol said is put in place as she admit to herself that the Creator always look after her and most of the people around her are immortals who handle a bigger role of the land. Adding to the facts she realized that Mirasol is not the immortal as she thought as she has her family but raised to be a companion of immortal those having a fate of being immortal also.

The news is too much for Yuki to handle as she decided to be left alone and went to the deep of the forest to process the information she received. She walks deep and loss in thoughts, it is already dark when she notice that she walk all alone in the forest. Suddenly a bright light catch her attention and it comes near to her until she was blinded by the it. When she open her eyes she found the Creator standing in front of her, his expression shows concern and Yuki did not hide her disappointment to the Creator. But he just told her that everything in their land is written in the Book of Destiny and she is the one created to handle the task. She remind him that he told her long ago about her fate to vanish and the man did not deny it as he said that her life is tied to the stone ever since she was created. He explained that the reason she was not vanish long ago as a punishment is because the stone tied to her but seeing that the lady is not ready for the task he decided to send her to river of fire instead, he said that letting Yuki see the stone to early is not on the plan of destiny as she was too young to understand the responsibility. Yuki ask about the emotion she feels toward Hanoi and his first reincarnation but the Creator only explained that those feelings help her to become matured to the life. She accuse him of lying but the Creator only looks at him with sad emotion and Yuki understand that he feels guilty toward the event that happens in the past.

After that, Yuki went back and everyone is worried to her but she assured them that she's fine and went to room for a sleep. She lays whole night thinking about the Creators word and realized that all the event that happens are all written in the book. She found the stone is connected to Hanoi in his reincarnation and the reason she feels attracted to his scent is because of the fragrance of the half stone. She confirm her theory that the other half is in hers since she never had a clue to it ever since she search for the items and is amazed to find that all things that happen to them are related to the divine object. She conclude that finding the stone in the first place is breaking the plan of heaven as she is not ready to be exposed stone but someone force her and fall on the trap. Henry tried to check on Yuki but saw her sleeping as she buried her face on the pillow unknown to them the lady is crying because she realized that falling in love is also part of the trial that she needs to overcome and the strong emotion is needed for the stone to release the power that it has.

The next morning the group decided to continue on their journey but Yuki still not on the mood to talk about her emotion and everyone though about the truth she needs to overcome but Yuki still thinking about the responsibility she needs to fulfill and is puzzled because all of the question in her quest started to have an answer. She found out that the stone started to fulfill the power it has because it finally brought back to the realm. She wanted to tell to Henry about the other half but hesitate as it means she needs to be vanish once the stone return to the place as part of the fate she has.

Everyone is preparing to leave but all of the sudden a soldier came out and started to massacre the place, killing many people young and old in the instant. The place turns into chaos as everyone run for their survival, Mark grabs Mirasol's hand and carried her to safety while Henry help the children to escape from the scene. Yuki help the other man to fight as she started to gain the ability of the stone. Mirasol is amazed by the power that Yuki shown but has no time to ask her, she also tried to fight as she seems able to manipulate some power because of being an immortal to their land.

The war ensure and the body continues to fall to the ground, Mark tried his best to help the children to hide and even manage to fight when a soldier spotted them. The children even help him as they fight their way out. The place started to become a blood bath as many lost their life. Having no choice the group tried to gathered as many as possible to evacuate. Yuki and Mirasol decided to be a bait to lure the soldier and the guys has no choice but to follow the instruction to help others. It is past noon when the remaining people were captured but luckily Henry and Mark is not with them as they manage to find a place to hide. Mirasol tried to hide but shocked to see Yuki being carried by the soldier and is injured, a voice came from the back and as she tried to look Yuki found Abel as he walks towards her.
