It was a very stormy night. The rain sounded so loud, that it was almost as if the ice was pelting the ground surrounding the place. It sounded extremely eerie.

A man wound up in the storm seeking shelter. He happened across a house, coincidentally in the middle of nowhere. With a serial killer on the loose, you never know.

He approached the house, drenched like a wet rat. It was cold and he was shivering from being so wet. His clothes were so thin, that it was a wonder he wasn't ill.

The light was on in the house. It sounded like the music was playing in the background, as well. It was kind of weird.

He gently knocked on the door once he was on the gallery. It seemed like only a woman resided in the house. He heard her soft footsteps before he saw her. Somehow, her shadow was visible even under the door so he knew when she was close, although she tried to remain unnoticed.

She was shocked to see him on her porch, she was...extremely cautious. Rightfully so.

He realised she had her reservations about sheltering him. He turned on his practiced, sophisticated charm.

He manages to convince the woman to gain entry into her house. She accepts, somewhat reluctantly.

This was way too easy, he thought.

She helped him get warm by giving him some clothes that her late husband had left behind. He passed just about a year ago and Janet didn't have the heart to get rid of all of his belongings. Thankfully, she didn't because it came in handy after all.

She decided to initiate a conversation with him to get a better grasp on who he was and why he was out there so late at night.

They began talking sitting in the living room, by the fireplace, drinking.

Then, deep into their conversation where they were getting to know each other better, this comes up.

"You ever heard the unfortunate story of a stranger and a woman who lives in the middle of nowhere?"

"No, what happens?"

"He kills her," he says with a creepy smirk.

"What do you mean?" She questioned in slight fear.

He jumped up and ripped a knife from his thigh. He ran towards her as she started running away, screaming and crying out for him to stop. He didn't.

And that's the last thing that she ever said, eternally gone and forever forgotten.

Although it was from a movie, I put my twist on it. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy it. Til next time!
