BOOM!

It sounded as the door burst open, slamming into the wall behind it. A dark figure entered the semi-lit room, still close to the open door.

They started screaming,"Wake the fuck-up! All yuh done have enough time fu sleep!"

There were several unconscious bodies in the room and some of them started stirring due to the loud noise. They did not arise from their drug-induced sleep. They were all out cold.

The figure grew very annoyed and took out the air horn they coincidentally had in their hoodie's pocket and walked directly to the centre of the circular room. Everyone was tied to a steel pole, each of them in varying forms of a slouched position, within the circle's circumference.

The sound blasted as the only one who's conscious started to blow the air horn in a non-stop, drawn out fashion. It did not affect them in any way, but the same could not be said for the other participants in the room.

First, it started with one person jerking awake with a confused look on their face as they looked around the room. As they began to get a grip on themselves, they finally realized that the sound they heard in their dreams wasn't a dream at all. Their gaze fell on the air horn and then, it slowly travelled to the arm and to the shoulder and finally to the hooded figure's hidden face.

"Please, stop. It's too loud! It hurts..." The first person that woke up started to whimper. It was sad. The sound alone was excruciating.

Then, other people started to wake up with nearly identical facial expressions. Almost like they thought that they were in a dream or a nightmare. They quickly realized that that was as far from the truth as they could be, as it all happened to be very real. As far as they could tell.

Once the hooded figure saw that everyone was semi or fully conscious, they stopped applying pressure to the air horn. The people in the room visibly sank with relief, although they instinctively knew that the nightmare was far from over.

"So, this is how this is going to go. I will tell you some rules, and you have to follow them. Or you will get punished. One person messes up, you will all get punished. Now, this is your first and final warning. Whenever you see me, I will be addressed as Grey. Neither black nor white, woman or man. Just Grey."

Everyone stared at "Grey" in astonishment. Grey, then, started to call out the rules and their punishments.

1. No one is allowed to call one another by their true names. Everyone will be addressed by the name given to them. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in immediate isolation from each participant.

2. Don't try to escape, at all. There's no way out, even if you came up with the best, foolproof plan. This will only end in a severe form of punishment.

3. When the games begin, you all have to participate, no matter the cause. Failure to adhere to this rule will end in immediate elimination.

4. You all will get the option to gain points. However, many points you get from playing the games, this will improve your living situation and the access you have to entertainment and the like.

5. You may get to know each other and maybe form an alliance, but there will only be one winner. It is suggested that you get to know each person because it may come in handy in the future.

As the rules continued, everyone stared around at each other in complete horror as it finally clicked that everything was real, and it was happening. Whether they wanted it to or not.

Grey started to grin in a maniacal manner. Their lips were the only visible part of their face. It was a slight pink colour, but it was somewhat dry, while their teeth were surprisingly white.

"Is everything clear? Well, I don't care either way. You will wait for further instructions. One more thing, all yuh name is located under yuh right foot. Check it out as you no longer go by your individual given names. Toddles!" This was the last thing that Grey said as they headed out the semi-dark white room, that it's almost grey. Ironically.

The door slammed shut as people started to let out sounds of anguish. Some of them even tried to break out of the restraints that claimed their wrists. They weren't very successful, and they started to slowly give up as they realized that Grey had their entire future in their hands. They were accustomed to having full control of their every limb and whim, and now they weren't. That was horrifying to think about.
