Birthday Surprise

Three months later

Today is my 20th birthday. Regina and I are going to the beach. I didn't really want anything special for my birthday. That's not really my thing. We wake up and get dressed to go to work. "Hey, babe what time do you want me to pick you up."

"Emma I have a key remember" she chuckles.

"Right I forgot." We give each other kisses and head over to our jobs. When I get to work I head I say hi to everyone and go straight to my office. The office is really slow all the time, very different from New York. I don't really think I like the change. I thought I wanted to live in a small town and settle down. Now I'm starting to rethink my decision. The town is great but I feel like it's too simple. Everybody is ok with going to granny's every damn day. Like am I the only one creeped out by that. This town just feels like everyone is brainwashed except Regina. She's honestly the only reason I'm staying at this point. The town doesn't make me happy but she does. I can always count on her to shed some brightness on this dull town.

It's finally the end of the day and I'm getting out pretty late because of all the paperwork I have to do. You would think a town with barely any crime wouldn't have so much paperwork. Driving home I felt so tired I didn't even want to do anything for my birthday. When I pull into the driveway and smile because I see Regina's car in the driveway. I walk into the house and find her on the couch drinking a glass of water. "Hey Regina, what's up with the water. I normally see you with a glass of wine." I laugh

"Haha very funny, I have the food ready."

"Ok I'll just get changed and then we can go." Once I get dressed we leave and go to the beach to have a picnic under the stars. It was beautiful the way the stars shine and the glowing moon. I have a surprise for Regina. "I want to show you something, follow me." I take her to the docks. "Here is my boat so we can relax on the water."

"You have a boat I didn't know I was dating a pirate"

"Very funny idiot come on let's take it out for a bit before we leave." I untie the boat and we go out on the water. Not very far away from the dock. "Emma happy birthday." She said leaning in to kiss me.

"Thank you I'm glad to be spending it with. Regina, I love you so much."

"I love you too Emma. I have a big surprise for you, it's even a surprise for me."

"Wow, what is it?"

"Well I've been feeling sick in the morning and my period has been late for two weeks."

"Um wow ugh what are you trying to say Regina." she pulls out a ziplock bag with four pregnancy tests in it .... all positive.

"I'm pregnant Emma" She has a big smile on her face.

"Omg god baby we're going to have a baby." I'm so happy my cheeks hurt from smiling so hard.

"I set up a doctor's visit to confirm it but we're going to be parents Emma." I'm in total shock I'm going to be a parent holy shit. I don't know what to do now. I and Regine aren't even married not that it really matters to me that much but I've never met her parent, we don't even live together, and last but not least I hate this fucking town. I mean this town is safe but I don't want to stay here. I haven't even gotten the chance to tell Regina. Now I'm sandbagged with my first child. Shit, this is a lot to take in all at once. I guess Regine noticed my silence because she cups my faces. "Emma are you ok"

"Um I'm fine this is just a lot to take in. I have a lot of things on my mind right now."

"Emma do you want me to have this baby?"

"What? what's that supposed to mean Regina."

"I'm asking you Emma Swan do you want me to have an abortion," she says with tears running down her face. I put my hand on her stomach and looked her in the eyes.

"No, I want you to have our son."

"Our son how do you know we're having a boy?" she laughs

"I just know baby" I smirk

"Well I think it's going to be a girl"

"Whatever you say, Regina." We spend a few more hours on the boat and then drive back to the house to get ready for bed.

"Goodnight Regina and goodnight my little one I can't wait to see you tomorrow." We kiss and fall asleep in each other's arms.
