Once in a Lifetime

The Wedding

"One more day until the wedding." I think to myself as I lay in bed with Regina and our boys. Our last fitting is today and I'm excited. I picked out a nice white suit, nothing too extra. Regina's dress on the other hand I have no idea. She won't let me see her in it until the wedding. I think it's ridiculous but she insists that we do it.

I showered, got dressed, and got the boys ready so we can drop them off at Regina's parent's house. "Are you ready my lover?" She says kissing me.

"Yep, all ready to go." We get the boys in the car and drive off. When we get there Cora is already on the porch ready for us. "Aww, my handsome grandbabies are finally here." She says holding her arms out for Mateo but he wasn't having it. He put his head in my neck and held on to my shirt as tight as he could. I bounce him on my shoulder to relax him. "It's ok buddy Papi is going to be right back." I hand him to Cora and he starts crying. I give him a kiss on his head "I'll be back I promise."

I and Regina say bye and leave. "That was hard."

"I know Em but well see them in a minute."

"Yeah, I know." I rest my head in my hand.

A few minutes later we arrive and go in for our fitting. "Welcome, Emma and Regina are you guys ready!" The hyper clerk says"Of course" I chuckle. Regina and I go into separate rooms to put on our clothes for the last time. "So are you nervous?"

"Nope, I love her a lot there's no questioning that."

"Well, you look amazing. Regina was right to say yes to you."

"Thank you." After a few minutes we were done and I and Regina met up at the front of the store with our stuff. Of course, Regina got a black cover so I couldn't see the dress. "Have a nice wedding. I wish you the best of luck."

"Thank you." We say at the same time. I put our stuff in the car and get in after opening Regina's door.

The ride back was silent. Nothing but Regina's hand on my knee until we got to her parent's house. As soon as we walked in Henry and Mateo started crawling towards us smiling. I picked up Mateo. "I told you Papi was going to be right back." He claps his hands together and gives me a big smile. "Emma, can I talk to you for a second." Says Henry (Regina's dad). I walk with him to his den with Mateo in my arms. "What can I do for you Mr.Mills.?"

"You can call me Henry Emma, you're going to be my daughter in law."

"Ok got it." He puts his hand on my shoulder and looks me dead in the eye.

"Make me proud and don't hurt Regina."

"Yes sir."

"Good thank you.

We leave their house after a few hours and go back home. Me and Regina put the boys to bed and get in the bed ourselves. I spoon Regina and give her little kisses on her neck. "I love you, Gina."

"I love you too Em."

*Wedding Day*

I wake up to the doorbell ringing but I look over to see that Regina is gone. "That's weird." There's a note on her pillow. "Hey, babe I didn't want you to see me before the wedding. Your dad's going to help you with the boys and with getting ready. I love seeing you soon." Unbelievable, well I honestly wasn't expecting that. The doorbell rings again "Coming!" I go and open the door and it's my dad. "Hey, kid."

"Hey, dad come in."

"So I'm here to help you with anything you need. I'm good at getting ready for weddings."

"Ok, I just need help with the boy's dad" I laugh.

"I can help with that."

We got the boys fed and dressed together and it was honestly nice to hang out with my dad. Just him and I like old times. "Em, are you ready to go? I already have the boys in their car seats."

"Yeah, I'm just grabbing my suit." I get in the car and we get to the venue. We give the boys to my mom and go to my dressing room. As I'm getting dressed I feel my dad's hand on my shoulder as I fasten my tie. "Are you ready kid?"

"Yes."

"I'm so proud of you Emma"

"Thanks, Dad, now come on best man."

Me and my dad walk to the altar and a few minutes later I hear the cellos play and I turn. The most beautiful person in the world was walking toward me. Regina is wearing a form-fitting white dress and it's amazing. Henry is walking down the aisle and I can't stop the tears coming out of my eyes.

She's now standing right in front of me and it's time to say our vows. " Regina I will take your love to give me hope, give me joy, and make me a better man. I promise to listen, to hear, and to always consider your feelings and thoughts as we travel together on this journey. I vow to love, honor, and cherish you, forsaking all others, as a faithful wife as long as we both shall live. I love you, Regina."

"Emma I promise to put you ahead of all others, to be by your side through thick and thin, through good times and bad. When the rains fall and the cool breezes blow, you can count on me. You can always count on me"The rings come out and we put them on each other's finger. "You may now kiss the bride." We lean in and our lips touch. The soft, warm, and electrifying feeling from our first kiss is happening again. Now in holy matrimony.
