My eyes opened up and soon I realized I was in a cage, stuck. The room had silver walls, as well as silver floors. It was the same as in the first room with everybody else, so I guess I didn't go too far? Let's hope... Wait, we only have an hour right?
And with that, the voice came back. "You will have one hour to get your little friend back from the cage she's in," Not a moment later, a screen in front of me flashed on and I was looking into the room where the rest of my group was. But, they were looking at me in shock and almost disgust. I paused and wondered for a second but I soon realized that they were looking at me, like in real time. Unfortunately, the voice came back and my guess was their side of the screen turned off since their disgusted looks went away quickly. Though, I can still see them, and hear them.
After the voice continued with the rest of the story and the remaining of their goal to save me, I looked around and found a couple items that could possibly help me escape. There was a key lying on the floor near me, but it was too far away to reach. I tried and tried but I sighed in defeat as my arm was starting to kill me.
"So, where do we start?" I looked up and saw Marcus trying to assess the situation while Cray was looking around and scoping out the room. Kath also looked around but she was looking at the screen in worry. "Do you think she's ok?" Kath started, still looking at the screen. "I bet she's fine, if they actually hurt her, we could probably sue?" Cray joked, but it lowkey hurt me. Does he care or...? "Still, it's a scary thought..." Kath continued. "Guys, remember this is a game, it doesn't exactly matter if this is real or not, we have to save her either way." Kath and Cray both nodded in agreement, "we could have a therapy session later, for now, let's just focus on getting her out of that cage and out of this room asap." Marcus continued and with that, they resumed to their clue-finding.
As they looked for clues to get out of the room, I continued my search to get the key. If that has any shot of me getting out of the cage, it's worth a try. I looked around the room to try and find something that had extension, that I could drag to bring the key at least inches closer. Just my luck, nothing was in reach. "Of course..." I mumbled, did I actually have to stay here until they rescue me? Can I not do anything???
Can't... do... anything... I immediately tensed up as my mind went whirling. I'm... trapped... I.... Stuck.... I.... Stop. Shut up, don't say that, you're going to be alright, you're going to be alright...
I looked around once more before feeling around the small cell I was stuck in, hoping they would have some secret compartment or something. Just as I thought, the walls were smooth cold metal polls and the floor was sturdy at every corner. I looked up to the ceiling however, maybe there is something there? I tried to reach upon my tippy toes, but I was a little too short for that. Of course, things just can't be easy... jeez I sound like my mom... Anyways, I jumped and surprisingly the ceiling felt smooth and cold... but fake. I jumped once more to hit it again and sure enough small specks of the ceiling came off. I needed to get up there, thing was I was to short. I looked around and luckily, there was a small bucket next to the cage. It was perfect to stand on and when I hit it, it was sturdy. So, I grabbed it, but I couldn't fit it through. Really? You guys really had to do it to me? Talk about taking an L... I felt again once more on the bars and they all felt like the same smooth metal. I tried hitting them to see if there were any fakes, and thankfully, there was. Literally, the one right in front of my eyes, was a faker. So I tried pulling it sideways to make room for the bucket and surprisingly, it worked. I smiled in glee and placed the bucket down in the middle of the cell.
I grabbed onto the nearest metal poll I could find and stepped onto the bucket. Hoping that I wont fall, I started pushing the ceiling up to see if it would budge. Thankfully, it did and the top was soon off. I giddied a little bit before wobbling on the bucket and grabbing the closest thing I could hold onto to steady myself. I shut my eyes and repeated 'don't fall, don't fall, don't fall, you better not fall, if you do fall I'm gonna be real mad, buddy' in my head until I finally peaked an eye open and confirmed that I was alright. Except for the fact that I was gripping onto the top of one of the bars and my feet were planted on the bucket. I soon realized that I'm either hoping off the bucket and hoping that I don't slam into the poll or I use whatever strength I have in my arms and push myself up. I weighed the options in my head for a moment before I decided to push myself off of the bar. I leaned forwards slowly, making sure that I had balance and gathered all the strength I could, closed my eyes, and pushed off against the cold metal. I freed my grip after I pushed and tried to hold my arms out to steady myself and find that balance again. I even stuck out a foot because I was leaning to much the other way at one point. Soon, I stopped wobbling and I stood still on the bucket.
Once I knew that I was ok, I opened my eyes and relaxed. I looked up and confirmed that the top was off and I could soon climb out. I looked out to the room though, to try and find something that could bump me up even more so I could get out a little more easily. My eyes scanned the room, time and time again, but there was nothing in reach of me, trust me I tried. I huffed, slightly upset but slightly understanding since they couldn't make it that easy to get out of here. But, then again, what if you were really weak and really short? There's no way you'd be able to do this unless you had balls of steel. ( *cough cough* if you think you're short and weak you're not. I'm making your character do this because you are a badass and no one tells you different *cough* ) Anyways, I went onto my tippy toes and reached as far as I could until I finally got a hold onto the top of the ceiling, I even reached with my other arm to grip it as well. Again, I gathered all the strength I could and pulled myself up and through the hole. "Yes!!! I'M FREE SUCKERS!!!!" I exclaimed and I crawled over to the edge and hoped off onto the floor.
I had a little bit of recoil so I had to steady myself before the door to my left had busted open and in flew Cray as well as Kath and Marcus. "Guys!" I said mindlessly with a smile and I noticed Cray pause for a second before returning the smile. "GOOD GOD YOU'RE OKAY!!!" Kath screamed as she shoved aside Cray and enwrapped me in a hug, "I was worried..." I laughed and returned her hug. "It's ok, I got out of the cage through the roof and I think we might beat this thing," I said, "yeah, yeah, if we can hurry this up," Marcus joked before we all remembered our main goal: to get the hell out of there. I froze for a minute and then grabbed the key that used to be out of reach for me. "Does this...?" I muttered as I looked to the door right of the cage and attempted the key on it. It took a little bit of muscle to turn the key to the right side, but it opened the door.
And with that, we all rushed out of there and were greeted by the same main lobby we were in before. I sighed with relief as I saw the familiar room packed with the same familiar people. The others apart of our clan looked at us with smiles and congratulated us on our escape. After a moment one question perked my mind and I opened my mouth to say it. However, I was beat to it. "So, who won?" Cray asked and we all looked towards the same woman from when we walked in here. "Well, looking at the times I am proud to say that group....." She paused, allowing the air to become tense. We all waited for a couple of moments as she smiled and closed her eyes. "Group 2 won the contest with a time of 45 minutes and 28 seconds!" Kath, Marcus, Cray and I all erupted with glee as we all began to squeal and hug one another. I was surprised when Cray had wrapped him arms around me and squeezed me before letting go and freezing, his action soon setting into his head. But, I only smiled and went in for a hug without much thought to it. Thankfully he hugged me back and we stood like that for a moment before he let go, causing me to let go as well. It made my heart ache to let go, but at least I got to hug him, right?
We all arrived home soon after, and Elliott had ordered pizza for everyone. I soon got a couple of slices of pizza and went up to my room. As soon as I closed the door everything seemed to stop. I was met to a dark room, the floor was sprawled with clothes and my bed was a mess. I sighed, "I should clean this room sometime soon..." I muttered before turning on a lamp and heading over to my computer to put on some Netflix and relax with my true love, food.
Hey All !! Who would of thought I would actually upload not 6 months later!!!! Anyways, I wanted to end this chapter here because next chapter is going to be very deep and very hard hitting to many people. So, I wanted to keep it a separate chapter for those who are comfortable dealing with sensitive topics. With that, I will admit that next chapter will be a short one, though I tend to make it as specific as possible to get the feel of yourself in that situation. I honestly hope I've been doing that this far.
