{Growing Closer - 1}

“Tsukuyomi, look out!” (Y/n) shouts, her body weight overpowering her friend’s as she shoves him out of the way. He cries out in pain as they both hit the rubble covered concrete below. The blue flames from whoever had been attacking caught her left arm, causing it to burn the black fabric of her hero costume.

The skin of her black scaly wings shred as the fire catches them, the flesh towards the thin bones audibly simmering. “Radical!” The bird-headed teenager cries out her hero name. (Y/n) rolled off of him, standing back up and looking over her shoulder at the man that had tried to attack them.

“Go find Hawks,” she shouts, spreading out her dragon-like wings while turning around. Her left one had been filled with holes and was dripping with blood at the ends. The pain had been almost unbearable, but she knew that Tokoyami would be able to find him faster than her in her state. “He’s supposed to be in the next building over. Hurry!”

The black haired man walks closer to them, though seems to ignore the boy trying to make an escape for the exit of the warehouse. “Some hero he is.” The man’s voice was smooth, though he spoke like something had been lodged in his throat. “Do you really think you could win against me all by yourself? Is that something you truly believe, girl?” He held out his hand, his palm facing her.

(Y/n) grunted, holding her bare, burnt left arm with her gloved right hand. “I don’t believe I can beat you.” She smiled, her wings shaking as they extended as much as they could. The girl had a wingspan of about twice her height, reaching up to ten to twelve feet. Her sharp teeth flashed a smile as she looked up at the villain. “I think I can be your punching bag for as long as I have to be until he can get Hawks.”

Even in the darkness of the abandoned warehouse, Dabi can see the look of true determination on the young girl’s face. He only smiled as a light blue flame appeared in his hand. “Real smart to leave your wings open like that.” The flame grew larger before exploding from his palm.

Her damaged wing bent quickly, swinging her to the right at an incredible speed. Her left foot swung to gain momentum as she twisted in the air. She pressed off a shipping container that had a large dent in the side, causing her to lose her balance on the uneven surface. With the damage to her wing, she hadn’t been able to swing as powerfully as she would have liked. It caused her to stumble and groan in agony, falling to her knees.

“Real smart.” The man repeated while crossing his arms and making his way over to her. “It’s a hero’s job to fight the villains, right? Being a punching bag is pretty weak, huh?” He laughed out loud, his pace quickening.

She stood weakly, looking up at the turquoise eyes of her attacker. He stood only a few feet from her, just enough space for the bottom of his boot to come in contact with her sternum. The young hero was sent backwards, hitting the corner of the storage container right between her shoulder blades. Blood shot out from her mouth and dripped down her chin. A dirty boot print stuck in between her breasts became layered as he pressed the opposite foot against her chest. Her teeth gnashed as he repeatedly stomped against her ribcage.

She seemed to have enough of feeling her ribs crack. Her arm reached up and lifted his leg from its current point of attack. Unexpectedly, his foot slipped from her grip and landed hard against the girl’s cheek. The sudden pressure made her jaw clench, causing her to bite her tongue savagely. The taste of blood was sickening, though it’s all she could taste.

The villain leaned forward, more pressure being applied to her jaw. “Oh, how’d that work for you?” He reached forward with a wicked smirk. The flame from his hand illuminated the lack of fear in her eyes as he got ready to end a young woman’s life.
