Waking up

3rd person POV~

As Barry sprinted around Central City to find Caitlin/Frost; he ended up finding the Mirror Master in an abandoned warehouse. On the walls of the warehouse were drawing and pictures of victims which spooked Barry out a little. He started to creep towards the back of the first floor of the warehouse. Then, all of the sudden heard a woman's scream which sounded in pain; as Barry heard the scream he started to sprint upstairs of the warehouse. Which caused orange and yellow lightning to trail behind him.

"Caitlin" Barry whispered underneath his breath

Caitlin tried to talk but no words would come out or at least Barry nor the Mirror Master could hear while being trapped into a rectangle-shaped mirror. Because of the Mirror Master used his hand to keep Caitlin from speaking. Barry looked at Caitlin in the mirror he noticed marks and bruises at her arm. Which made Barry furious, and he started to form a fist.

Barry started to talk through his teeth in anger, "you b-"

"Now Flash I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want her to feel more pain than she already does? Now would we?" the Mirror Master said in the pure joy of himself

Barry kept silent~

"That's what I thought" Mirror Master smirked

Barry peaked out of the corner of his eye and saw Caitlin trapped in a tall mirror, and saw her nudging her head towards a mirror gun... Barry gave a slight nod. While the Mirror Master was laughing and leaning against his mirrors in enjoyment. Barry rushed towards the gun and grabbed it in the nick of time before the Master could do anything about it. Barry pulled the trigger without hesitation which caused the Mirror Master to be trapped into his own sham. He was screaming at the top of his lungs but no one could hear him. By the Mirror Master being trapped caused Caitlin to be set free.

Caitlin was so weak in her knees she was about fall to the ground; luckily Barry was there to catch her in perfect timing. Barry carried her in bridal style back to STAR labs while Caitlin was unconscious. Barry placed her in the hospital bed they kept in the lab. Everyone was so relieved to see Caitlin and Barry were safe; Iris was the first to give Barry a giant hug. While Iris was hugging him she could tell his hug back was a little off.

"Barry is everything okay, how are you feeling?" Iris asked in concern

"I'm fine just a little overwhelmed at the moment" Barry responded and gave a nod

"Well, I don't care I'm just glad your back dude!" Cisco gave Barry a side hug

Barry was overjoyed to see all of his family once again but, he couldn't completely focus based on how tired he was. Everyone gave Barry a hug and let them catch up with him; Barry would tell him bits and pieces about being stuck in the speed force but he left out some major details. You could tell something was on Barry's mind which was none other than Caitlin! Barry would glance time from the time at Caitlin while she was sleeping and Cisco was fixing up her cuts and bruises. Which made Barry feel more uneasy than he already does right now. Joe noticed something was bothering him...

"Barr you should get some rest before you tell us about your time in the speed force" Joe stated with honesty

Barry nodded knowing that Joe always understood when something was bothering Barry which made him feel comfortable.

Iris quickly responded," Why don't you come home, Barry? I know how tired you probably are right now..."

"Yeah I need to get my mind off of somethings anyways I could use the rest" Barry responded

Everyone said there goodbyes and Iris and Barry went home to their apartment. Iris could easily notice that Barry look worn out, shaggy with his beard, and a glimpse of sadness in his eyes.

"Cmon let's get you to bed Barry," Iris said with a smile

"Yeah," Barry said with a fake smile

Iris kissed Barry's forehead which Barry wasn't expecting then quickly realized that he should be because he was engaged to Iris after all.

Iris's POV~

I could easily tell there is something up with Barry but I don't want to bring it up to him. He's probably just tired and confused after everything that has happened today... So, tomorrow I'll see if everything is okay and ask about his weird behavior but for now, he should rest.

Barry's POV~

Iris was asleep and no matter what I could not sleep at all; I kept tossing and turning in the bed. But, I don't think Iris noticed at all, I tried to distract myself from what was bothering me so much. No matter what I couldn't get it out of my mind it was Caitlin... I wanted to make sure she was okay. If I'm being honest someone hurting her like that made my blood boil; it tore me apart knowing someone wanted to hurt her. So I made a decision to go see her and it probably wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had but, I just wanted to see for myself that she was okay.

I snuck out of bed quickly hoping not to wake Iris up which thankfully I didn't. I dashed over to STAR labs to see Caitlin; when I arrived all of the lights were off except for the lamp next to her. She was obviously soundly asleep; she looked peacefully. I decided to stop starring because I didn't want to look like a creep! I walked over to her bedside and examined her arms without touching them. You could see the stitches and bruise marks; which made a tear fall down but, I quickly wiped it away. I acted like it never happened, after 5 minutes of being there I came to the conclusion that she was okay. Caitlin would wake up tomorrow and have a sweet smile on her face which is what I hoped for. I gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead and softly smiled. Before I knew it I was in my bed happily falling asleep and I prayed tomorrow that it would be a good day!
