As the sun rays peek through the curtains of my's bedroom, I began to softly wake up with a content smile on my face. As I get ready for the day; I hear footsteps trailing up the staircase. Then suddenly, I heard a knock on my bedroom door; I approach to open the door, and with a twist of the doorknob the door began to open showing my dad dressed in baseball attire.
"Morning, Slugger!" Dad said cheerfully
"Morning Dad, what's all this about?" I said pointing to his outfit
"Oh- this, Sport we are going to spend the day together by playing a game of baseball," Dad suggested with a bright smile on his face
I was overjoyed to spend some quality time with my dad, so at the thought of it made me smile.
"Sure thing Dad that would be great to spend the day with you! The only thing is I'm not the best baseball player" Barry stated with an awkward smile
"It's alright I'm not either," Dad said with full hope in his son
"Just wait until you see me play," Barry said with a laugh
Dad just smiled at me and handed me some baseball apparel and he closed the door right in front of him. So at that moment, I decided to change into my new apparel; it took me a good 5 minutes to be fully dressed and ready to go. Once I jogged down the stair steps; I got stopped by my mother. "Have fun today with your dad, Barry" Mom said with a smile on her face as she hugged me. I could tell she was excited that Dad and I are spending the day together.
Thank you, Mom, and we will" Barry said with a smile while kissing his mother's cheek
"Cmon, Slugger let's go to the baseball park!" Dad said hugging Mom and giving her a quick kiss before we left. You can easily tell that my parents are the most in-love people you will ever meet; I can't wait to have a relationship like that one day!
3rd person POV~
At the baseball park~
Okay, Barry you ready for your old man to take you down?" Henry said with a smirk on his face
"I'm ready..." Barry said knowing that his old man would take him down at a simple game of baseball.
Growing up "sports" weren't really Barry's thing and he knows for a fact that they still aren't. "Alright ready you are going to have to go long!" Henry said ready to throw the baseball across the field.
"I'm ready," Barry said running backward; while attempting to catch the ball but, Barry ends up tripping over his own two feet!
