A Walk in the Park

In the Speed Force~

At CCPD~

3rd person POV~

As the clock ticks slower and slower by every passing minute; Barry knows he can watch the clock all he wants, but it won't go any faster. His boredom starts to kick in; as he starts to fiddle with his pencil. His eyes start to feel a sensation of heaviness and they began to close which slowly brings Barry into a trance by only seeing darkness throughout his vision. Barry ends up falling asleep on his workspace; then all of the sudden hears the clock strike noon. Which makes Barry pounce out of his office chair. He tried to look around to find something to do but he couldn't because today was a slow day at CCPD. Then all of a sudden Barry heard a light knock at the door; which made him lock his gaze to his mother, Nora standing by the door.

"Hello, Mom what are you doing here?" Barry said while giving Nora a hug; he was overjoyed that she was here

"Oh- well I wanted to see my beautiful boy of course," Nora said with a welcoming smile "Also I was wondering if you wanted to spend the rest of the day together?"Nora asked hoping that Barry would say yes!

"I would love to, Mom I'll have to talk to Captain Singh about me taking the rest of the day off," Barry said with a smile

"Okay, great I have the whole day planned out for us," Nora said with a natural glow in her face

"Great! I'll be right back I have to go give Singh my notice" Barry said while exiting his lab

"Okay, I'll be waiting," Nora said while taking a look around his lab area

A few minutes later~

"Okay, let's go, Mom," Barry said as he grabbed his stuff and they both proceeded out the lab.

At the park~

Barry and Nora both decided on taking a walk at the park on this beautiful day; it would be nice just to clear their heads after a very boring morning. As they walked through the park and heard all of the sounds from the leaves crushing underneath their feet to kids laughing while playing a game of catch with their parents.

"Today is a beautiful day for this, thank you, Mom," Barry said while holding his mother's hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Of course, Barry you look like you needed it too" Nora began "I mean with all of the family celebrations you've been helping out with and not to mention you went all out for Caitlin for your amazing date that you planned," Nora said with a soft smile

"Mom, I enjoy doing all of those things for my family and Caitlin," Barry said with a smile while thinking about Caitlin.

While Barry was dozed off in his thoughts, Nora then decided to pick up a pile of leaves and throw them at Barry to wake him up; "Oh I see how it is!" Barry said with a cocky smile

"I'm just saying Barry you are just too slow," Nora said teasingly

"You did not just go there!" Barry said in shock

"Maybe I did or maybe I didn't," Nora said as she gathered a bunch of leaves in her hands and threw them at Barry.

Barry fake fell into the pile of leaves; "Mom, can you help me? I think I hurt my side" Barry said while fake wincing in pain and clutching his right side of his stomach.

"Of course give me your hand," Nora said looking concerned for Barry while extending her hand over to Barry. Barry then formed a sly look on his face; he then pulled Nora into the pile of leaves. Which made leaves fly everywhere around Barry and Nora; Nora then realized what Barry had just done.
