Present time~

At the loft~

3rd person POV~

As Iris was finishing up her article on the Flash's latest save from last week; writing the article was distracting her from the argument that she and Barry had last night. As the doorbell rang out of nowhere it made her lose her concentration on her writing piece; as she walked up to the door and with hesitation to open it she finally built up enough courage to finally open the door. To see her fiancé standing right in front of her; she noticed that Barry had this look in his eye that showed her, regret. Barry abruptly said, "Can I come in?" in a calm tone in his voice.

"Yeah, sure.."Iris said with a fake smile

"I was wondering if we could talk?" Barry said with a gentle smile

"Okay, I'm all ears," Iris said with little emotion

Barry sighed with a comforting look in his face and began his apology towards Iris.

At STAR Labs~

3rd person POV~

As Caitlin stood in disbelief in front of Gideon; she inserted a hard drive with the information about her future self into Gideon. Caitlin then began to calm down and picked up her phone to give someone a call. "Hey, we need to talk," Caitlin said a deep sigh and she hung up the phone; then Caitlin quickly walked out of Gideon's Time Vault. She grabbed her stuff from STAR Labs and went out the door and arrived at her car, and Caitlin drove away in her car to go see an old friend.

Later~

Caitlin has just passed a sign that stated, Welcome to Star City; Caitlin was very eager to discuss everything that she hasn't totally wrapped her head around yet. Once Caitlin pulled into an apartment's driveway; she quickly got out of her vehicle and went up to the 5th floor. She knocked on the apartment door that stated 23B; the doorknob twisted back and forth also with a lock that unlocked in the process. The apartment door opened; which showed Caitlin a young women dressed in loungewear and with bright blonde hair and rectangle-shaped glasses. "Hey Caitlin, what seems to be the issue?" a calm voice stated with a welcoming smile

"I need your help!" Caitlin said with a worried look on her face

Back at the loft~

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kept my guard up; you deserve to know the truth. Especially if we are going to get married; we need to start working as a team and not for our own sakes. I'm sorry if I wasn't open to you, but I'm ready to talk about whatever you want to talk about. I'm here for you, Iris; but the things I experienced in the Speed Force might come to a shock to you. So, that's why whenever I got back I started to act differently; and I can't hide that fact from you anymore. The Speed Force changed me more ways than one, but that doesn't mean I should take it out on you so I'm sorry Iris." Barry said with a soft tear running down his face

"I understand and thank you for apologizing I appreciate it, and I'm sorry for the things I said I'm not going to lie to you anymore, Barry. Some of the things I said were true to me; you did leave me, Barry... I know I shouldn't be selfless but I can't help it when I don't even know if I'll see you breathing tomorrow. It's hard for me to deal with every day; I had to put a guard up for 6 months acting like I was fine but in reality, I was broken, Barry." Iris said while tears streaming down her face wanting to say more but it couldn't be formed into words.

Barry just looked at Iris; he stared at her with an emotionless look on his face. Barry didn't know what to feel so many emotions were racing through his mind he felt consumed by all of it. "I honestly think we need some time..." Barry said not being able to look into Iris's eyes. "We have different viewpoints about this whole situation but, I will still answer ANY questions you have for me because you deserve to know the truth," Barry said calmly and while tears began to sting his eyes.
