(The Cullen's P.O.V)

"I can't believe you let her come back here..." Alice cried
The Cullens have never seen the normally calm and cool headed Alice so worked up before. "She attacked me! She tried to kill Jasper..." she paced the floor like an anxious leopard in a small cage, and carried all the grace of one as she did.
"She didn't try to kill him, I saw her movements. If she was really trying to kill him she would have tried to grapple him, or tried to remove his head. All she did was claw at him." Said the ever reasonable Carlisle.
"Yeah. Ok. She's hunted him for all these years just to scratch him and cry."
"Alice!" Hissed Rosalie.
"You can't be serious! My own sister, taking up for that woman?!" Alice's delicate voice became shrill and haggard.
"I heard her thoughts...I believe she just wanted to be heard. Let all that anger out that she's been holding in for so long. After she saw Jasper she didn't want to kill him." Sighed Edward, holding Bella close to his side.
"I can't blame her...losing a child..." added Rosalie, sympathetically.
Jasper stood silent, leaning against the window with his arms folded, looking to be deep in thought.
"We've all lost loved ones over the years! We've all lost something when we turned! That doesn't give her the right to attack us!" Alice hissed, tears streaming down her face.
Rosalie walks over to Alice and places a comforting hand on her shoulder, but Alice jerks away from her.
"Where is she now, Jasper?" Asks Esme, gently.
"I told her to wait for me at our cabin." He answered
"Wait for you?! At OUR home, Jasper!?" Alice seethes in disbelief.
"Well, I couldn't exactly have brought her here, could I? Not while you're acting like this." Said Jasper, calmly.
"Acting like-? Like what Jasper?! That my husband of over 50 years had just been attacked by his first wife, whom I had no idea about until just a few minutes ago?! Who knows?! She could be standing here right now in this very room, eavesdropping!"
"Nolana wouldn't do that."
"Oh, pfft, you would know, right? Considering you've been attached at the hip for the last century, right Jasper?...You know her so well!" She cried.
Jasper reaches his hand out to pull her close, but she steps back away from him.
"I need some air." She sighs, bounding across the floor, even in her rage, she's still as graceful as a doe.
"Alice wait! Don't go." Called Bella. Alice leaps up on the windowsill, and turns back to the rest of her family. "I don't trust her...you're making a mistake." She says, coldly, walking out onto a thick tree limb and disappearing into the night.
"Is she going to be alright?"
Asks Bella.
"I've never seen Alice like that. Never." Added Emmett.
"She'll be alright after she calms down.
This was a big shock for her. For all of us."
Said Carlisle.
"Alice is kinda right though, Why would we invite her back here after what she did?"
Asked Bella.
"Because, out there on that field, I didn't see a killer. I saw a woman who was in a lot of pain, and if she came all this way to find closure, well I believe she has that right." Carlisle answered.
"But what if she decides to attack Jasper again, or Alice, or any one of us?" Asked Emmett.
"I think we can take her, seven against one. I don't think it'll come to that though." Carlisle smiled.
Jasper still stood, solid as a marble column.
Only Edward knew what he was thinking.
Even with Alice being as upset as she is, that's not who consumes his thoughts
At the moment.
"Go to her, Jasper..." Edward sighed.
Jasper looked into Edwards eyes, expecting to see disappointment for not immediately running to comfort Alice. Instead he saw understanding, Edward knew what this meant to Jasper. A second chance to make things right. A chance to atone for the crimes he committed against that poor woman.
Jasper nodded, and made his way toward the door. Trying to find the right words to say to the woman he once loved more than anything.
