Even though this pregnancy came so unexpectedly, you were already in love with your little darling. You felt as if you were getting a second chance at the life you always dreamed of during your human life. Sadly, the accelerated growth of your child made it difficult for you to take it all in, You spent a lot of your time with Carlisle, as he documented as much of your miracle pregnancy as he could.
"I don't know when you'll deliver, but it will be soon. It's just a guess of course, but I imagine it will be anytime." He said, measuring your fast growing bump.
" I wish I could prepare you better for this." He added, solemnly.
You were so caught up in the excitement of having a child, that you didn't really think about the uncertainty that you were to face once he/she was born.
"I can't even tell what development is like for a vampire fetus. Needles, ultrasounds, nothing is penetrating the amniotic sac. All I have to go by is the growth of your stomach and the movements within it."
You keep forgetting how different pregnancy is for women these days, compared to when you were carrying Clara. Even the norm for human women is beyond your understanding. Knowing the gender, or birth defects, knowing anything of the sort beforehand was unheard of during your last pregnancy. You cradled your stomach in your hands as you stared worryingly at the visible tumbling inside you.
"It's beginning to run out of room." He smiled slightly, placing his hand over yours which rested on your bump.
"We will figure this out." He said.
You smiled up at him, gratefully.
"Thank you, Carlisle...for everything."
Just then, Jasper stepped into the room, followed by Rosalie who was carrying some shopping bags from one of the local department stores.
"Hey." You said softly.
Jasper's smile faded as he began to feel your uneasiness.
"What is it? What's wrong?" He asked, rushing to your side.
"Nothing. From what I can tell, everything seems fine. Her body seems to be adjusting well, the human blood she's been feeding on seems to be providing adequate nutrition for her and the baby. We won't know much else until she delivers." Answered Carlisle.
"What's troubling you, darlin?" Whispered Jasper, as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders.
"I'm just concerned. What if it doesn't develop like it should? What if it remains a child forever and doesn't age beyond a newborn? What kind of life would that be?" You Asked, beginning to panic a little.
"Shh. Shh... it will be perfect. No matter what, we'll treasure it and provide the best care possible, Whatever that entails." Said Jasper, as he held you close. A feeling of calm began to overtake you.
"Hmm... you know I don't care for that." You sighed, smirking at him slightly.
"I know, but getting worked up over things we aren't sure of isn't good for you or Blake...." he smiled, kissing your forehead.
"Or Laila!" Interjected Rosalie, walking over to you with the shopping bags.
"Jasper's right. So far everything seems alright, so don't stress yourself over the unknown." Added Carlisle.
"Here, this will make you feel better!" Said Rosalie, shoving the bags into your hands.
"Oh, Rose! You shouldn't have..."
You could see the ruffled lace peeking from the top of the bag. Inside there were tiny soft pink dresses, with lots of frills and lace, tiny socks, pale pink and white gowns with polka dots, and 4 or 5 headbands sporting the largest and most obnoxious bows ever made.
You giggled as you placed everything neatly back inside the bags.
"I guess we know what you're hoping for, huh?" Chuckled Jasper.
"Thanks sis." He smiled, hugging her.
"There's more where that came from! She's going to be Auntie Rosie's precious princess!"
"Or Prince." Added Jasper, sporting that sexy smirk you love so much.

Later that night, you found yourself in the bedroom Jasper had made for Clara. Tears began to cascade down your cheeks as you traced the wooden letters that spelled her name above the crib, thoughtfully.
"Are you alright?" Asked Jasper, gliding silently through the bedroom door.
"I'm fine...it's just-"
You pause to wipe the tears from your face with the end of your sleeve.
"Just what, darlin?" He asked, tenderly moving a stray tendril of hair behind your ear.
"I just...I feel guilty. Like we're replacing her or something..." you whimpered, as your tears began to well up again.
"No..no..don't ever think that way. No one could ever replace out first child, sweetheart."
You turned again to the wooden letters on the wall.
"I just...I can't stand the thought of taking them down. This is her room." You cried, your voice breaking with each word.
"Darlin, I'm sure Clara doesn't mind letting her baby brother borrow her room." He chuckled, holding you close as he kissed your hair.
"I don't want to erase her." You sighed, leaning your weight into him as he held you.
Jasper paused for a moment, rocking you gently as he searched for a solution.
"I know." He said, finally. He pressed his lips against your head once more before reaching out to the letters and taking them down one by one.
"What are you doing??!" You Asked, unaware of what your husband was planning.
"I have just the place for this." He smiled, leaving the room.
You followed Jasper into the living room, to a small round table in one of the corners with only a small decorative lamp resting on it. Jasper took the lamp and set it aside. He swiftly runs into the kitchen and back within a millisecond. In his hands he holds a hammer, a few nails and a white tapered candle. With mind-numbing speed, he nails her name into the wall and lights the candle that sat inside a pink crystal like candle holder.
"We can add to it overtime." He said, as he picked up the lamp.
"Now we have a little memorial, right here in our living room. She'll never be forgotten, darlin." He smiled
You gazed up into his bright beautiful eyes. "You're incredible..." You giggled.
Suddenly, you began to feel a sharp sudden ache in your back. Your stomach began to tighten, making you gasp at the discomfort. You grab your stomach as you doubled over.
"Jasper..." you whimpered, fearfully.
"Oh god..." he mouthed
"It's time..."
