"Please! I'll do anything you want! Just don't hurt my child!" Pleading was all you could do, childbirth had weakened you so much that you could barley stand on your feet.
"I know, that you and I have had our differences, Alice. But please, don't hurt my baby..." you cried. You searched for the smallest glimmer of mercy in Alice's expression. But, there was none. Only hatred, and an amused smirk. She grabbed your arm, and jerked you out of the closet floor, holding you inches away from her face.
"You really think you deserve Mercy?!" She hissed. Tangling her other hand in your hair and jerking back on your scalp.
"Emily wanted mercy for her child as well." She growled menacingly. Your eyes widened in horror.
"What have you done?" You whimpered, as your daughter began to stir in your arms. Alice's attention turned toward the squirming bundle still clutched to your chest. Alice let go of your hair and wadded up the child's blanket in her fist.
"No! Don't!" You cried helplessly.
Your distress fell on deaf ears as the sound of your daughters cries filled the cabin.
"I have no mercy to offer you, or your bastard child!" She snarled, throwing the tiny pink mass from the loft.
"NO!!" You screamed, as your helpless child bounced off the couch, and into the floor beside Rosalie's decapitated body.
Your baby's screams became frantic, causing something within you to snap.
Even though you were still so weak, you broke free of Alice's grasp, and punched her hard in the mouth, sending her stumbling back into the wall.
You scrambled toward to stairs, desperate to get to your still screaming daughter. Alice, though idled by the blow, leapt back onto her feet and grabbed your arms, twisting them unnaturally behind your back. You struggled against her as she dragged you out onto the balcony.
"Stop struggling!" She hissed, kicking the bend of your left knee. The only thing louder than the sound of your bones snapping beneath the force of her foot, was the snarling of the wolves as they battled the Cullen's just feet from your front porch.
Alice's eyes caught Jasper, just as Sam's massive Jaws were lunging toward the back of his head.
"BEHIND YOU!" She screamed.
Jasper reacted and turned, dodging the blow, and kicking Sam over the head, knocking him into the dirt. He looked up toward the voice that saved him, and saw You in the clutches of his ex Wife.
At first, he was relieved, thinking Alice may have come to her senses and come back to help her family, but the expression on your face told him otherwise.
"Alice, Don't!" He screamed, before avoiding an attack from Leah, coming up on his right. He was able to duck under her, and flipped her on her back. Knocking the wind from her lungs.
He looked back up to find you and Alice had vanished. A familiar smell drifted on the wind, winding it's way through the scuffle and catching all the parties attention.
Sam looked toward the area where Alice had been standing with you, and Jasper had finally come to a devastating realization.
"It was Alice.... It's a set up!" He screamed running into the forest, following the scent.
"JASPER! COME BACK!" Screamed Emmett.
"Edward! You have to get through to Sam! Extend your power to him!! Let him read your mind!" Called Carlisle, as he grappled Seth around the waist, and tossed him far to the side.
"I can't do that Carlisle!" Cried Edward, as he struggled to fend off Embry's snapping teeth.
"Try!" Yelled Carlisle.
Esme tackled Embry and held him to the ground, doing her best to keep the wolf at bay.
"We'll hold them!! Do it now!!" She screamed.
Edward focused all his energy on Sam, who was now charging at Emmett.
With all his might, he leapt into the air and drove both of his feet into Sam's ribs, knocking the massive black wolf off his feet.
'Sam! Listen to me' he thought, listening to his thoughts to see if he was getting through. All he heard was Sam screaming Emily's name. While Sam was still idled, Edward visualized Emily's face, every single detail he could remember. The way her hair fell around her face, the way her heart shaped lips curled around her scars. Sam struggled to his feet, and charged at Edward, teeth bared, ready to tear him apart. Edward didn't move. He extended his arm forward and focused on Emily's face, as clear as if she were standing there with them. As Sam drew closer, his eyes began to dilate, he could see. All the wolves stopped attacking, hearing Sam's heartbreaking thoughts.
'My Emily....my beautiful Emily...' Edward pressed his hand against the giant creatures muzzle, as tears began to stream down its fur. Sam sunk to the ground, he began to shrink and his fur faded away. Edward knelt down to him and placed his hands on his shoulders.
"We were set up...by one of our own..." hissed Edward, fighting back tears.
"She didn't murder your tribe, Sam..."
Sam looked up at him through misty eyelashes.
"Then who? Did?!" He growled, through labored breaths.
