Alice's appearance began to wither, mirroring her decaying mental health. Her once shiny, luxurious, well kept hair became dull and grown out with uneven jagged ends. Her face, once beautifully full and vibrant, had sunken in from lack of nutrition, and her pale skin seemed to grey as the days passed. She barely left to hotel room, staying close to her laptop, keeping track of the confirmation emails the wolves sent back, informing her of their attendance to the faux convention. She was expecting Jane and Alec to arrive any day, ready to aid her in her murderous spree. Every moment she spent away from Jasper ate at her like a cancer, her obsession with regaining his love and ending your life consumed her entirely. She didn't feel a shred of remorse for what she was planning, even though she knew if Carlisle and the rest of her family were to ever find out, they'd never forgive her. She looked up at herself in the full body mirror hanging on the wall facing the bed, her wild, oily hair stuck out in all directions and her bright honey colored eyes were black as coal from hunger. She sighed as she ran her bony fingers down the side of her gaunt cheek, hardly believing how rough her reflection looked. Her throat burned from the thirst she'd neglected, knowing that she desperately needed to feed, and soon. It'd been so long since she tasted human blood, she salivated thinking about sinking her teeth into the necks of the wolf tribe. She stood up and walked toward her reflection, reaching out to it, as if it were a completely separate entity.
"Resist the urge to feed...the thirstier you are, the more lives you'll be able to take..." she reminded herself. She swallowed hard against the searing pain, and clutched her throbbing throat. In the reflection behind her, she could see Jasper there, faintly. His kind eyes looked down on her with pity, and all she wanted was for him to take her in his arms again.
"Jasper?..." she whimpered.
She balled up her fists as she pictured you in her place, she could envision the way he looks at you as clearly as if you were standing right in front of her. Desperate tears began to stream down her cheeks as she hammered her bony knuckles through the mirror, shattering it into millions of small sharp pieces. She snatched your perfume from the top of the dresser, curling her nose up at the sickeningly sweet scent that emitted from the bottle. She held it high over her head, tempted to smash it on the ground and go back to kill you herself. She might've done it too, if it hadn't been for the sharp sudden knock that came from the door.
When she answered, two cloaked figures stood in the doorway. Jane seemed almost startled as she looked Alice up and down, then slightly amused.
"Why Alice, you look...well..." she said, in a snarky tone.
"Thank you for coming. Come in, we have much to discuss..."
