I Knocked

I woke up the next morning in Jean's arms in the hospital bed. I saw his face, and immediately started crying again. He moved around a bit, and opened his eyes. He saw me crying, and pulled me towards him, and wrapped his arms around me. I cried into his chest, and his tears starting falling too. After an hour of both of us being a mess, I got up, and went pee. I walked out of the wash room, and Erwin was standing in the door frame. He walked in, and I took a seat on a chair that was beside Jean's bed.

"I have some news", Erwin spoke.

"What is it?", I asked, Jean listening.

"We planned a date for the funeral, it'll be tomorrow, along with the burial."

"That soon?"

"Yes, most funerals are quick."

"Okay, we'll be there. At what time?", Jean asked.

"It's gonna be at 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M."

"Okay."

"Just wear black, and we should have everything else there for you guys, like tissues. I just want you guys to know that it will not be an open casket funeral."

"Why?", I questioned.

"(Your name).."

Jean grabbed my hand, and answered for Erwin.

"Because I found him, and he was in no shape to be seen the way he was. I, and everyone else that saw him, don't want to put that image in everyone's heads, as the last Marco they saw. I want you to remember the beautiful man that you loved, can you do that for me?"

I just nodded, and tears flooded my cheeks. I could only image what horrible sight he must've seen, and I thanked him mentally for trying to protect me from seeing such a sight.

"(Your name), Jean is going to be released today. I'll take you to your room", Erwin said.

"I'll meet you there later, okay?", Jean cupped my face, and kissed me.

I left with Erwin. He just brought me to the building, and let me walk myself to my room because he had a meeting to attend. I walked in the building, eventually getting close to my room. I walked in front of Levi's door, and stopped. I walked up to it, and knocked.
