"WHAT?" I ask almost swallowing my tongue.

"why do the pack want me to have sex with you so badly?" she repeats straight-faced.

"I'm not sure they do," I say as calmly as I possibly can.

"well, Mori and Anna looked at me like I grew a second head when I said we hadn't had sex."

"you told them that?" I ask now understanding why Mori bounced into my room asking what I was playing at.

"It came up in conversation that's not the point, is it some rule everyone has to have sex with the Alpha? She says now looking at me disgustedly again.

"No in-fact quite the opposite, to do so is an honour and privilege," I say trying to make it seem like a very rare occurrence but when her face changes sour again I think I must have said something wrong somehow.

"oh I see so they wonder how I dare resist such an honour," she says now seeming to get flouncy.

"No that's not it, it's me that wouldn't, I had plenty of chances," I say pointing out how I could have but didn't.

"oh, so I am too easy and not attractive enough for you? It's my weight isn't it I bet your into those stick women with no boobs."

"no not at all you are completely my type it's just that...... look my words are coming out wrong, your beautiful and the honour would be all mine if we.... You know but I just refuse to do so without your permission 100%" my words just will not come outright and the hurt resignation in her eyes thinking for one moment it was anything to do with her almost destroyed me.

"didn't I give you my permission on more that one occasion? She asks now looking more confused.

"your wolf did, but I don't want Nova to say yes, I want you to say yes Ella. I want you to want to do this and not just because an invisible force is making you want to do it." I say now feeling like one of those mushy hallmark cards.

"is it common to claim someone and not have sex with them? She asks looking at me now.

"No it happens but it usually does not end well," I say with a sigh.

"How so?" she asks now more interested.

"I'm not going into detail Ella I don't want you to feel any more pressured into this that your body already does."
"no tell me I have a right to know it affects me too," she says putting her hands on her hips and pouting.

"it won't affect you in any way whether we have sex or not other than alleviating or ending your Haze symptoms that I can promise you, princess," I say only realising after I used the nickname that makes my heart glow when I use it for her.

"but it will affect you won't it," she says putting the pieces together in her head, shes so clever I swear if it was not so serious I would have kissed her.

I nod but my words don't seem to want to form.

"is it Bad?" she asks rubbing the back of her neck and I nod again.

"Are you already feeling the effects of it because my haze is almost over?" she asks now covering her mouth and looking horrified. I want to tell her no, tell her that everything will be ok or that I will be fine but I know the truth is what she needs to hear right now and I could not lie to her, I have been feeling the effects slowly getting worse over the last few days. Once again I give her a solemn nod.

"that's why Mori freaked out!!" she gasps and this time I manage to form words.

"yes, he freaked out stormed straight to where my scent was and damn near beat the crap out of me," I say with a smile for how my strong and loyal Beta had acted for me.
