Aiden
"something is not right," I grumbled to Mori my beta, Mori was loyal and strong but thought more with emotion than he did with sense.
"maybe today is the day," he said brightly.
"for what?" I snapped staring him down.
"maybe today you will find your mate," he says with a dreamy look and clasps his hands together although to emphasise.
"don't be so stupid," I grumbled but even as I said it my stupid pouty wolf got hopeful. My wolf also called Aiden had been rather impatient all night pacing about something, as an alpha wolf he could sense when something was just not right and his current feverish state in my mind trying to distract me from my everyday tasks seems as though this is one of those times I just have to trust his instinct. Its tradition in my pack that all babies do not get names until their wolf presents, if their wolf lies dormant until they are 5 or older they are labelled as omegas, some parents choose to name omegas some don't and its not unheard of that an omega will present with their wolf name later in life although they usually stick with their human name if they have one. My wolf presented its name as soon as I said my first words although my mother already knew it from the day I was born. A wolf is a lost spirit animal and it is sacred amongst werewolves to share our wolfs name, of course, those who do not have wolves to name just get named as usual. I as alpha can sense when a wolf soul is present in a human, this can happen by birth, by a bite or by destiny. Some people are born to wolf parents, some are bitten by wolves and welcomed as one of us but some people or rare occasions live amongst humans completely unaware there is even a wolf there at all.
"sir intruders near the north side sir." one of my guards say through pack link which is kind of like a Bluetooth headset being wired directly into your brain.
"I have got this stay near town," I say instantly stripping off my clothes and changing into my wolf form darting towards the intruders likely to find teenagers from the nearby human city wandering too far or a neighbouring pack couple out celebrating haze and stumbled upon my land but I don't think I truly expected what I did see, as I approached the smell of rotten flesh assaulted me, Rogue! Not only that but the smell of fear and human. I Ran quicker skidding to a halt as I see a very beautiful curvy woman with dark brown hair jeans and a rough-looking T-shirt and backpack on her butt in the mud as a huge intimidating but somewhat straggly wolf stalks towards her its dark predatory eyes locked onto her as though she was its only meal, it probably was. Rogues find it hard to survive with no pack they almost always work alone so injury or starvation usually claim them and if not insanity cleans up lingering messes as they either kill themselves or lose their human and get killed by wolf hunters for wandering into nature reserves on the base instinct to look for food.
"rogue, get the capture kit it has cornered a human," I say quickly to my beta while swaying my options of what to do, before I can do anything the beast locks its jaw around her ankle and the smell of human blood pain and a ear-piercing scream almost turns my stomach, to my surprise despite being in agony she delivered a rather powerful kick straight to the wolfs face I would be impressed only I realise the horror of what she did as the wolfs blood not drips from a wound on its eye and directly into his fresh bite mark, the idea of killing her now out of the question because as soon as this happens I feel the powerful force of a wolf soul joining with hers, I get the sudden desire to protect her like I do every other wolf on my land but first I need to get this beast off her before he tears her foot off, I pounce swiping him with my full weight sending him spiralling to the ground. The human gets up and quickly hobbles away.
"he's down hurry I need to follow the girl she has been turned," I say to my beta and thankfully no more than a few seconds later he and some of my warriors arrive.
"get him to the interrogation room, I will go after the girl," I growl.
"will you bring her back my beta asks looking at me curiously." no point she will be paralysed with fear after her attack and it will be a few days before the wolf begins to present, I shake my head to him thinking I will explain later as I silently dash in the direction she hobbled in, her scent is not hard to follow and with her injury slowing her down I catch up in a few short seconds anyway.
I decide to follow her and make sure she gets home safely vowing to keep my eye on her and make sure no one else gets hurt in all of this.
I follow her to a dingy basement flat that is so small it can not be more than 1 bedroom surely, she washed her wound and got into bed, I didn't want to be a creep so I just sat nearby incase she left the house again, when she didn't I returned to my pack at dawn, for the next week I would stay near her house and watch, almost every night since the attack in a not quite human but not quite wolf form she would stalk from the house strip her clothes in the woods and spend hours rolling around in mud chasing animals and then going to sleep only to wake up a few moments later completely human and freaked out about what happened, she didn't seem able to embrace the wolf fully yet but I knew for sure it was there and it was strong. Her hair was lighter than I first imagined and bitten wolves receive a wolf spirit akin to their own, so if they are a coward they get an omega if they are brave or strong they get a beta but only a select few with intelligence, strength, cunning and fighting willpower get an alpha wolf, myself included in that. However I seemed to sense power from her after just a few short days and usually it takes months, staying in touch with my beta every night to keep him updated on her he suggested trying to explain what's happening and bring her to the pack, I said not until she realised what was going on and sure enough a few nights later that happened she had changed gone out and then was getting dressed to go home when I sensed it for the first time, the ripple of a wolf spirit speaking to its human, this was the bonding of the souls, her change was complete. A few seconds later I saw her freak out as her wolf took control of her hands and changed them to claws. I approached her and spoke. She looked as though she would run at first but her wolf responded to mine instantly calming at my touch as I gathered the hand she tried to hide and watched as the claws retracted.
"name I demanded upon standing."
"Ella," she said deeply before clearing her throat. Her wolf shone in her eyes telling me that was not a shared name.
I ask for her wolfs name and suddenly as though snapping a spell she steps away, I take in the sight of her for the first time, light brown hair down her back dark eyes staring at me scanning the length of me, I smirk making a very strict rule to not stare at her nakedness I am well endowed and we don't want to scare her away with the extra size being a wolf has added now do we, I only half pay attention to the rest of the conversation while I communicate with Mori for himself and ana to get ready for their new guest since she was clearly ready sooner than anticipated. She seems hesitant to follow me I can't entirely blame her for that but I point out her options, her saying she has no family and me sending one of the pack to collect her few belongings from her run down flat, i begin walking away and she follows along somewhat subdued slightly behind me, my wolf practically purrs that our new wolf fell in line behind me so obediently but I get the feeling this is a somewhat more difficult battle to forge. As we approach town all wolves bow to me saying "Alpha" through mind link as a show of respect. I nod to them but do not reply leading Ella through town. My beta smiles a broad smile looking at her and she shrinks behind me as though to hide. I often forget how humans are not used to nakedness the way wolves are, my beta and his mate are dressed thank goodness as are his twin girls smiling up from the sandpit outside their house.
"Ella meet Mori my Beta and his mate Annabelle."
"mate? Beta?" she says looking at me confused but politeness wins out as she looks past me slightly shyly and addresses Mori.
"Nice to meet you," she says with a slight bow to them.
