the more I walked the more tired I felt and the more pain I started to feel. I didn't know where I was going either, I didn't want to go home too easy for them to just come and get me not that they seemed to show any interest besides they probably sold my house or rented it to someone at least so that left me with two options. No1 a hotel but I didn't have any money or No2 Dannys house, Danny was a guy I used to live around the corner too, he and his boyfriend Shane had three kids together and he would invite me round sometimes, I drew them some pictures of the kids and his dog once saved me when someone was mugging me walking through the... Oh shit wait I don't think it was a dog... I mean now I know wolves are a real thing it was probably one of them right? It makes sense why I never saw the dog around or any food or anything in their house I mean Danny was a vet so I just figured it stayed at the practice, it would also explain why their three 'Adopted' children looked exactly like a mix between the two of them.

well shit, I wonder how many more of my friends were secret werewolves? Anyway, Danny once made me memorize his phone number in case I ever needed help or bailing out of jail or anything I hope he didn't change it, I walk to the phone booth just inside the town, I would walk to his house but right now I am in so much pain I don't think I would make it.

Reaching the phone I dial the number for a collect call and then type his number from memory, it rings a few times before thankfully Danny answers slightly confused and probably asleep.

"Danny its Ella I can't explain but I'm in trouble can you come pick me up from the car park at the dog and doublet outside of town as soon as possible," I say with a slight croak and he does not hesitate.

"stay there I will be there in 5," he says before the call goes dead, I replace the phone and struggle across the road sitting on one of the benches, thankfully the pub is closed. Rather amazingly he was there in what I guess to be under 3 minutes and he jumped out the car and ran over to me, he struggled to get me to the car and once I was there he hopped back in and started driving.

"so," he says once we are moving.

"you're a werewolf I say with a smile smelling his scent."

"uh," he says nervously.

"So am I," I say with another smile as he visibly relaxes.

"since when?" he asks confused.

"a couple of months," I say with a shrug

"that where you disappeared too then?" he says in amusement.

"yeah didn't work out so I'm back." I joke

"well something clearly worked who's the lucky guy?" he says with yet more amusement.

"what do you mean?" I ask confused.

"well you're pregnant," he says simply.

"what?" I say suddenly alarmed.

"you're pregnant," he says again and now I feel like I'm going to be sick.

"How the hell?" I say to myself but he answers.

"I can smell it in your scent, you didn't know?" he says filling in the blanks.

"I only mated last week," I say and suddenly I'm flying forward and almost slamming into the dashboard but my seatbelt holds me in place.

"ahh what the fuck that shit hurt," I grumble

"where is your mate I'm taking you back to him right now," he says with a growl and starts spinning the car in reverse.

"I left idiot he rejected me," I growl.

"oh, but its too soon for you to be apart you must be in agony!" he says taking me in full for the first time.

"that's what I just said idiot now drive me to your house please I feel sick and the car is not helping," I grumble and he puts his foot down as we go zooming through the streets before I can blink or throw up we are pulling up outside his house.

"Is everything alright?" Shane says running out to the car.

"she is a wolf and mated a week ago and pregnant and rejected," Danny says quickly jumping out lifting me from the car and rushing me inside.

"Oh fuck," Shane says running inside, Danny places me on their sofa and the room starts to spin.

"I think I'm gonna..." before I can say or do anything a bowl is placed in my hands. I swallow hard and nothing comes up.

"she needs a medic," Shane says looking through his phone.

"closest pack is the Barnes family pack," Danny replies.

"ha, some family," I grumble.

"so that's the pack? Maybe the alpha will help if we tell him and name the wolf then..." his words are cut short when the bowl in my hands suddenly becomes useful.

When I'm done I wipe my mouth on a tissue I am handed.

"Aiden is my mate, was my mate," I say feeling ill for another reason.

"so a medic is out, none would come into rival territory and I don't know what the Alpha would do if she is found so close to his land."

"I can go I don't want to cause you trouble," I say trying to stand to leave.

"no hunny he wouldn't touch us we are protected under the Argon pack it's you we are worried about, especially if he knows you are carrying his pup."

"I don't think he does I kept my scent masked I thought it still was," I say defeated.

"no, I think you got too weak," Danny says.

"the car and our scents will hide you though he can't follow you here," Shane says placing a hand on mine.

"what am I going to do." I suddenly sob.

"stay here we will care for you," Shane says without hesitation.

"but the baby," I say now realizing the enormity of the situation and wondering if I should go back and plead with him but I remember how angry he was a week ago he would be angrier to find me pregnant he may even kill me or the baby or both of us. I think tears falling down my face again.

"ok first let's give you some pain meds and a hot bath see if we can help a little with your pain," Danny says and Shane nods. I silently agree but know it will not help, I became good at hiding my pain living alone and growing up how I did but this was agony.
