Chapter 36-The Conversation of a Sibling Bond

It has been several days since the incident with Natsu and his stepmother and after hearing about Grandeneey's story and she did want she did, Natsu forgave her after words, However, the same didn't apply with his little sister Wendy. She was still upset with her mother's action. One morning they were having their breakfast routine, Wendy was chatting for her brother while Grandeneey was fixing their plates. "So, Wendy how was school yesterday" Natsu asked randomly as he wanted her to feel like her usual-self. "It was good, nothing special happened or anything like that" Wendy replied while understand that Natsu just wants to make conversation with her. Grandeneey came over to the table with plates in her hands and placed them in front of her two kids "Thanks, Mom" Natsu replied as started eating and Wendy thanked her as will but did not smile as she started eating as well. Grandeneey tried to talk to her daughter but was not getting any luck but instead she has been getting the silent treatment for that the passed three day. They finished their breakfast, Natsu and Wendy were getting to walk to school "Have a nice day" Grandeneey replied after her children went out the door.

Natsu and Wendy were having a conversation and Natsu decided to have a talk with his sister about what happened. "Listen Wendy, I know you're upset with mother, but you shouldn't be angry" He stated. "Why shouldn't I be mad she did something that was unacceptable" she replied as Natsu understand that she is right. "You have done nothing wrong, Natsu, and you were punished for it" Wendy finished. "I do agree with you Wendy, I didn't expect her to hit me like that when I brought up Larina" Natsu replied as that name caught Wendy's attention "Larina? Oh, that right she is your biological mother, I didn't know that my mother knew your mother" Wendy replied. "Yeah and there is a story behind that" Natsu said as they stopped in front of Wendy's school. "A story?" she said "Yeah and it is a long one so I tell you about it after school, alright kiddo" Natsu smiled and then padded Wendy's head making her smile back. "See you after School Natsu" Wendy said while walking on her school campus and waving back at her brother. Natsu looked at his watch and noticed the spare time he has left before his class started. "Oh wow I only have thirty minutes before my school starts I could walked around for a bit" He said as he turned his heel and started walking towards the high school but decided not to go on campus yet and instead he found a bench to sit on and looked at his iPhone. Meanwhile a certain super model blonde were on her way to school when she noticed a pink-haired boy sitting on that bench. "Hey, Leo can you pull over for me please" Lucy asked "Why, What for?" Leo replied "Just do it, Okay" Lucy said as Leo decided to do as she asked without question when he noticed why she asked to pull over. Lucy got out of the car and approached the pink-hair boy "Hey there Natsu" said the blonde as Natsu didn't noticed her until recently "Oh hey Lucy I didn't hear your car pull up" he replied. "and I noticed you glued to your iPhone without realizing that I was standing right in front you for a good few minute" Lucy replied as Natsu rubbed the back of his head and nervously giggled.

Leo decided to leave, and he knows that Lucy would to be with Natsu and drove off leaving the two alone together. "So, what are you doing out here and so early, you and Wendy are usually the last people to get to school" Lucy said while sitting next to Natsu. "Well yeah but the thing is Wendy, my mother and I had a fight" Natsu replied as Lucy gasped. "What happened?" she asked "My mother did something that upset my little sister, it happened about three days ago. My mother Grandeneey who is a gentle soul had hit me across the face" Natsu said while lower his head and Lucy was surprised. "No way, Grandeneey hit you, but why, she is the nicest I have ever met, I remembering you telling me one time that she didn't even spank you when you and Wendy were kids." Lucy stated "Yeah I know and that was what is upsetting Wendy, she is angry for my sake" Natsu replied. "I don't understand, Natsu why would your hit you" Lucy asked a Natsu slowly lean his head back "It's because I brought up the name of my birth mother" he said, and Lucy widen her eyes. "it turns that Grandeneey and my biological mother knew each other" Natsu started to tell Lucy the story about Grandeneey being the personal maid to the princess of Fiore, Larina E. Fiore and she was a rude and heartless princess until Igneel came into her life. "Wait your Mother was the princess of the Fiore Kingdom" Lucy shouted but Natsu shushed her "Not so loud" he cover her mouth "Sorry" she mumbled as the boy moved his hand away. "Lucy, if you want me to finish this story you have promise not to tell anyone alright" Lucy nodded her head as Natsu continue with the story. Time has past as the two were now walking towards the school and Natsu told Lucy the whole story. "and there you have it, so after school I will have a conversation with Wendy and tell her the truth about our mother's behavior" Natsu said "Right I hope it all works out" Lucy replied and Natsu nodded in agreement and they both walked into the campus.

Meanwhile at Wendy's school she was hanging out with her boyfriend Romeo when a girl came up to her "Hey there Wendy, Romeo mind if I sit with you guys" the girls asked "Yeah sure Touka" Wendy answered as she allow the girl to sit next to her "thank you, you are two are the best" Touka replied. "No mention it" said Romeo. The three started a nice conversation about their day until Wendy accidentally brought up the influence about Natsu. "What was that, Wendy? Someone hit Natsu" Romeo asked "Well yeah, but he is alright, it happened about three days ago" Wendy replied while waving her hands in defense. "I didn't mean to bring it up" she stated. "What happened? Who hurt Natsu?" Touka cried for Natsu as he is her crush "I rather not say, so can we please change the subject" Wendy replied in a harsh tone as Touka and Romeo became concerned. They decided to talk about something for the respect of Wendy and talked about some else completely. The day has gone by while school was ending Wendy walked towards Natsu's high school and waited for him at her usual spot. Ten minutes later the bells rings and the student were dismissed for the day, Natsu headed towards the entrance knowing full well that his little sister would be waiting for him. Wendy saw his brother walking towards her "Hey Wendy ready to go" Natsu asked "Yeah sure" she replied with a soft tone and Natsu noticed that Wendy felt uncomfortable about back home. "Come on Wendy, I know you're still upset, but remember I told you that I would explain about mother's behavior" Natsu stated "I know, I remember" Wendy replied. "Come on let's starts walking and I'll tell you a story" Natsu said while he and his little sister were heading towards their home.

Natsu told Wendy about the time that Grandeneey was Princess Larina's personal maid and that she and this other girl named Annabelle had it tough. Larina was a curl and heartless women who would abuse her servants if do something that she did not appreciate. Wendy was getting the picture as Natsu continued the story while walking along the sidewalk. "So, you see, our mother had it rough with her past life and bringing up the name of my birth mother brought back painful memories" Natsu stated as Wendy stayed silent for a while "Do you understand Wendy" he asked as the little blue-haired girl stopped in her track. "I get it, mother was being rash and to be honest Natsu, you and I have see her get aggressive but only with words, she scold and lecture us as punishment, she has never gotten physically violence with us" Wendy started to cry. "I am scared, Natsu what if she does it again if you and I bring up something that she doesn't appreciate" Wendy continued to cry harder as she dropped her school bag and cover her face with her hand. "Wendy?!" he said her name "I don't know why I am crying or why I am so scared" she spoke out her feelings as Natsu didn't have the answers she wanted so he didn't help her with words but instead with love and heartfelt expression. Natsu kneeled to her level, pulled her hands away from her face and wiped away her tears. Wendy saw her brother smile at her and next thing that happened they were hugging "Don't be scared little Sis, you know our mother isn't harm you or me" Natsu found the words to say to her "Natsu" Wendy replied as he let go of her. "I am sure that hit in the face is a one-time thing, it's like you said before she never physical violence with us, heck, she never even spanked us when we were kids" Natsu words calm the little girl and gave her confidence idea of speaking with her mother again. "You right, Natsu" Wendy smiled as she grabbed her brothers hand and they ran towards their home and once they got there Wendy saw her mother in the kitchen, doing the dishes, when she ran up before the women and hugged her for behind. "I'm sorry, mother" Grandeneey heard the cry of her daughter "I understand, Natsu told me everything" Wendy felt her mother turn around "I'm sorry too Wendy." Grandeneey replied as she hugged her daughter as forgiveness was accepted in that moment. Natsu was happy seeing that heartfelt scene and instead of joining them, he decided not to as he noticed the time for work and so went upstairs, showered, change into his work clothes, and head out the door. "Mom, Wendy I'm off to work" he spouted as they replied back "Okay have a good day, Natsu" The boy was walking towards the Café then his phone ringed "Hello" he answer and on the other side of the call was Lucy "Hey Natsu" she said "Hey Lucy what's up" he asked "Hey are you free Saturday" She replied "Actually I have the day off, Why?" said the boy "Because that day you and I are going on a Date" Lucy replied.
