Chapter 8-Lucy and the Butler

Third Person POV

The day after that the star model and the pink-haired "summer" male maid had gone eye to eye, all hell broke loose for the butler. "This can't be happening," Natsu said as he soaked on the kitchen floor. "It's bad enough that three kids from my school know my secret, but for someone like her to see me in this outfit, I'm going to be a laughing stock for the entire school." He cried, and then the next he knew, a foot had landed on him. "What the—? Natsu," said the waiter who had stepped on him. "Hi, Ren," Natsu sighed as he got up. "You look like you've been in a horror movie," Ren stated. "Worse, the most popular girl in my school saw me in my butler uniform," Natsu replied. "Oh, I see; you're worried that she will tell the whole school about your little secret," Ren suggested. "Well, that's not all, Ren; you remember me telling you how Fairy Tail High School has a bully problem," Natsu said as Ren gasped. "Oh, I see; you've been bullied since you first started, and being seen as a butler will make you more of a target," Ren replied. Natsu sighed, "You right on the money."

The day after, Natsu was walking his little sister, Wendy, to her middle school. "We got here a little early today," Wendy pointed out. "Yeah, sure. No problem," Natsu said, spaced out. "That wasn't relevant to what I said," Wendy said as she noticed her brother spaced out and gloomy. "Earth to Natsu..." She flicked her fingers in his face. "Oh, sorry, Wendy. I didn't mean to space out. It's just that... I'm worried about..." Natsu flinched as he thought about what happened but Wendy picked it up quickly. "Let me guess, from school, besides Erza, Levy, and Gray, someone else found out about your work as a waiter at Butler Cafe, and you're not sure if you can trust them or not." Natsu wasn't surprised Wendy could read him like a book. "Right on the market as always, little sis," Natsu replied while crossing his arms and chuckling. Wendy smiled. "So who was it that saw you?" Wendy asked. "Your favorite model," Natsu replied. "Lucy Star was at Blue Pegasus," she smiled as her brother sweat-dropped. "Yeah, I was as surprised as you are now. I'll have to have a talk with her at school." Natsu checked his watch; he had 30 minutes to get back to his high school from Wendy's middle school. "Speaking of my school, I better head back. I'll see you later, kiddo." He waved Wendy goodbye, and she did the same and ran inside through the entrance door. Natsu took a 20-minute walk on the sidewalk, thinking about what to say to Lucy.

The pink-haired boy made his way to the entrance gate where he saw the red-haired vice president standing there with Levy, the treasurer, and Gray, the secretary. "Good morning, Natsu," Levy greeted. "Morning, Levy, Erza, and...," he stared at the dark-haired shirtless boy, "...Gray," the name the pink-haired despised. "Natsu," Gray replied. They stared at each other with lightning bolt intensity in their eyes. "Alright, boys, that's enough," Erza stated, and the boys stopped. "Yes, miss," both said. "So, where is our general clerk," Gray asked as a red sports car came up. "Oh, there she is," he stated as the blonde stepped out the car and on the sidewalk. "See you later, Loke," Lucy waved to his brother as Leo drove off. "Hi, Lucy," Levy greeted her. "Are you ready for your day as general clerk?" Erza asked. "Yes, I am, and I might have some delicious dessert after school," she stared at Natsu and winked. The bell ringed for the class to start, and everyone went to their homeroom. "Go morning everyone!" Miss Virgo greeted her students, and they greeted her back. Homeroom only lasted for an hour before classes, and then afterward the bell rings, and everyone goes to their first class. Natsu was still worried about Lucy telling everyone about what she saw yesterday. "I hope she isn't a blabbermouth," he said to himself. The bells were ringing on and on, and everyone noticed that the blonde beauty was following the pink-haired boy around along with the scary red-head. "So Natsu, any plans after school," Lucy asked. "Not really. I have to work, and then after that is home," Natsu replied. "Oh really? Maybe I'll stop by for a visit and maybe invite some friends." Those words froze Natsu in his track as the blonde walked by to their next class. Lucy turned her head towards Natsu and winked at him then disappeared into the classroom. "I'm doomed," he replied.

Later that day after school, Natsu made his way to the Blue Pegasus Cafe for his shift when he noticed Lucy standing at the front door waiting. Natsu walked up to her and said, "You know, they don't open for another hour." Lucy just giggled. "I know that. I can read the sign, and anyway, I thought I could run into you first," she claimed. "You don't say," Natsu replied as Lucy chuckled. "So our Student Council President is a blue Pegasus Butler?" Lucy expressed those terms as the blonde giggled once more. "Haha, laugh all you want, but the pay is good enough to put bread on the table," Natsu said, and Lucy felt sad and let out a calming sigh. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. It's just that there are better laboring jobs with equal pay," she described. Natsu crossed his arms, "Yeah, but none of them work with my school schedule and not to mention this place pays more on a weekly basis, I didn't care at the time what I was wearing, I just needed the money," he stated. "But if you didn't care what you looked like, then did you keep it a secret?" Lucy asked. "I did say 'at the time,' I didn't think anyone would care about anything, but the girls in Fairy Tail High School sure proved me wrong," Natsu answered. Natsu looked at his watch and said, "Well I better get in there." He walked into the back alley to where the employee entrance was while Lucy still waiting at the front door for the shop to open up. An hour later, the door unlocked, and Lucy helped herself inside and was greeted by the man in the suit. "Welcome to the Blue Pegasus. My name is Ren," he introduced himself. "Oh, dear me!" Lucy blushed. "Now, Miss, I shall show you to the table." Ren took Lucy to a single booth. "Your butler will be with you soon," he replied. "You know, Ren, a little birdy told me that the first customer is allowed to request a butler to their choice for the entire day," Lucy stated. "Little birdy," Natsu whispered as he thought about it. "What to say, Miss, it's a tradition for us butlers to encourage the guest to a fair meaning," Ren explained as Lucy smiled. "Let me think." She put her finger to her chin.

The butler was a sight to see. Lucy Star was the most famous model in Starlight Magazine, and as everyone was gazing at the blonde beauty, waiting for her decision, Natsu was still wondering who the little birdy was. "Who is it?" Natsu whispered. "All right, boys, I've made my decision." Lucy's voice caught Natsu's attention. "Decision on what?" he asked. "Well, I'm the first customer of the day, and I'd like to follow the butler tradition, which I've heard from Levy," Lucy stated "Levy, of course, I forgot she's a gossiper," Natsu said. "She also told me your butler nickname, 'Summer-Chan,' and guess what? I choose you." Lucy smiled as Natsu gasped. All the butlers were heartbroken at this decision. "Such a lucky guy," one of the butlers, named Hibiki and nicknamed 'Flower-Sama,' was eating his heart out. "That is so unfair," he cried since he was a big fan of hers. "Don't worry, Flower-Sama, there will be other girls who want your attention," said Charlie, nicknamed 'Charm-Sama,' as the door opened to reveal two more girls. "Oh, Flower-Sama!" Hibiki looked at the two girls, and the tears wouldn't stop. "Carrie, Alexia, it's you," he called their names, and the tears went away. "Welcome, ladies! May I escort the two of you to your table?" Hibiki smiled, and they followed him to the table and sat down. "So, Flower-Sama, do we get to choose again as always? And if we do, you know who we choose," Carrie said. "Well, unfortunately, ladies, someone else beat you to it," Hibiki replied as he pointed to the blonde with the pink-haired butler. "Oh my god, is that Lucy Star of Starlight Magazine?" Alexia gasped. "That's right, and she requested Summer-Chan as her butler for the day," Hibiki stated. The girls were just thrilled to see her.
