Ela x Reader: Stuck together

Night Time

Ela POV

"Did you have a good day, Anna?" I ask.

"I had a lot of fun!"

"That's good to hear." I was giving Anna a bath before she was supposed to go to bed. Currently I was pouring water over her, rinsing her hair. "Close your eyes now."

She does so as the water flows all over her. "I'm in a waterfall."

I smile. "I suppose you are."

"Have you seen a waterfall?"

"Just small ones. Not anything crazy. Like at a lake or something."

"Mommy says lakes are bad."

I stop for a moment, remembering the story of Zofia and the lake. "Your mom had a bad experience with one of those. Don't worry. Not all lakes are bad."

"What happened?"

"It's not a story for me to tell."

"Pleeeaaase?"

"I'm sorry Anna. Not this time." Anna looks sad, and I can't blame her. I'd want to find out too if I was her. However, despite how I feel about my sister, this was one thing I knew I shouldn't share, especially to her own daughter. "Don't be sad Anna."

"But I want to knooowww."

"You can't know everything, especially at your age. When you get older you'll learn a lot more, whether it's taught to you or you find out yourself."

Her arms hit the water with a splash. "I hate being four."

"You're almost five, Anna. Don't worry. You should enjoy being a kid. Between you and me, being an adult isn't so great."

"Why's that?"

"Well, when you're older, you have to work at a job, you can't play that much-"

"Really?"

I shake my head. "Nope. And do you know what the worst part is?" I get closer and she leans closer to me and I say almost in a whisper "You fall in love with someone and kiss them!"

"Ewwwww!"

"See why you should enjoy being a kid?"

Anna nods. "Have you kissed someone?"

"I have."

"Who?"

"It's a secret."

"You can tell me, auntie Ela."

I smirk. "Sorry, but now is not the time. Aaaand you're clean!" I go grab a towel as Anna stands up from the bath, water dripping. She steps out and I enclose her in the towel, drying her off. I do a little peekaboo thing with the towel and make a funny face. Her laughter causes me to smile as I dry her a bit more. "Your mom is going to call you soon, and after the call it'll be your bedtime so go on ahead and put on your pajamas."

"I don't wanna go to bed!"

"You don't?" She shakes her head. "You have preschool in the morning, though, and you shouldn't be tired for that."

"I don't wanna!"

"Hmmm. Tell you what. You can keep a secret, right?" Anna nods. "Okay. After your call, you can stay up 30 minutes longer, but then you're going to bed, okay?"

Anna smiles and nods. "Okay!"

I extend my hand and she shakes it. "Good. Now let's finish drying you off and get your pajamas on. Can't have you calling your mom and staying up naked."
