"So how did you do it?" Diego asks you in the break room.
"How did I do what?" You reply with another question.
"Get Elżbieta to actually like you."
You shrug. "I just treated her well I guess. Didn't treat her like crap and I put up with her attitude. I don't know what I did, but we're close now, and I'd like to keep it that way."
"Maybe she wants to... you know." Private Julia Buescher says.
"What? Oh. Yeah no it's not like that."
"Really? Because you're like, the only guy she's actually close to."
"We're close because we had to spend a few weeks together. I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about that with her, but it's not happening now. We're just close friends. That's all."
"Just so we're clear I was talking about date, not-"
"Yeah I know what you were referring to."
"Okay, because one could interpret it as-"
"No I get what you're saying."
"Good. So we're on the same page."
"Well, hope Cartier allows you to stay close. He plans to have Bozak go on a mission soon." Diego says.
"Yeah hopefully. I mean, she'll do what she does anyway. She doesn't give a damn."
"Trust me. I know. I had to lead a mission with her and she just went out on her own. Let me tell you, though, she's one hell of an operator."
"I've yet to see her in action, but that's what I've heard from some SEAL friends I know."
"She's very good at what she does. Speaking of which..."
Ela walks up to your table. You wave to her and she gives a single wave back. "Hey Ela."
"Hej. You ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go. See ya Julia and Diego."
"Wait. Where are you going?" Julia asks.
"Ela's teaching me how to shoot. Says I'd be hopeless if I didn't."
"You would." Ela says, not cracking a smile.
"Eh. Can't argue with that. Be careful." Diego says as you and Ela leave the hall.
To give you sort of a lead-up as to why Ela was teaching you to shoot is because yesterday while chilling in the lab pretending you were working you said you had never shot a weapon before. Ela, finding this odd and thinking that you should have some experience, took it up to her to teach you how to shoot the right way. Her way.
You get to the shooting area and surprisingly you're the only two there. That ought to save me some embarrassment you think to yourself. Ela sets her bag down and first grabs her RG15.
