We reached the city. What looked like the city's officials for the train unit were surrounding the whole station. Never before, unless there was an attack, the train was late. The atmosphere was so grim that even my crystal asked me, "These people are frequent to seeing deaths as it is entailed in their ob description. Shouldn't they be used to these untimely and yet gruesome deaths?" I had no idea what to do, so I thought out the same thing that the crystal told me, and then dad was quick to reply, "No matter how many times you see dead people, it will always feel like your first. Especially because the murders that take place are so gruesome. No one, yet, has survived a monster dopplers attack. N-No one yet" dad stuttered.
I shrugged at the fact that he has, possibly, had a personal loss in one of the attacks. A official came towards our small group, since many people were pointing towards us and trying to explain what happened, over the recluse of needing to get to work. The Ka'ar region already started to strike me as a much more efficient, and at the same time dangerous, mirror of the Earth. The official started asking for our name and residency. Jaime thought out,"Dad, you don't need to answer his questions. We are masters!" The though seemed slightly unlike Jaime to me. "Answering their questions makes life easier for them and for us. The last thing we masters require are officials snooping around the mastery premises, and finding out the secrets to our powers." was dad's response, a smart answer to a dumb remark.
When the officials learned that Jaime and dad were masters, taking me, a trainee, to the premises, he apologized profusely. Dad just asked him if his questions are done. "No sir." was the answer. "Well, first of all, you do not need to call me sir. Secondly, we shall leave after your questions are over. No need for apologies." was dad's response. The official smiled a little, then nodded, and started asking questions with more enthusiasm. I peeked at Jaime and saw him clutching his fists. "Your brother does not agree with your fathers methods of going about with agendas. Your brother yearns for that respect, that power. Your father on the other hand, earned that respect and the power, and uses it for people. Your brother, is what one would call a quick fuse!" said the crystal. I scoffed, which forced the eyeballs of all three other people to be focused on me. This time, I apologized. Dad and Jaime nodded, but the official attempted to return the favor by saying," There is no need for your apologies!"
"A smart response." said the crystal. " No single soul should be willing to 'mess' with you if they heard of your power." continued the crystal. I thought about what the crystal said. First he criticizes Jaime for his inability to grow above the petty differences between a master and a normal Ka'ar inhabitant. Then he starts to turn me into the same way Jaime is. I shake my head. Dad's loud answers to the officials questions soon became hushed. The crystal shouted out inside my head. "Show your true self. It is what this region need. This planet requires a hero. You and me, together, we are a hero." accosted the crystal. "No." was my answer. "I shall learn how to control my powers, then I will look into the needs and wants of this region. An untrained master is not the safest option for these people.
